Quote from: Tracy on November 17, 2015, 05:38:30 PMhmm I love Font Explorer, basically for illy etc..
I rarely have a problem. I mostly use open type tho.
I will have to do what you guys are doing I guess

Nothing happens when I click on Linotype Font Explorer
tried putting it in apps, no worky
Hmm... we do very little Indy/Illy work now; almost none. But even when we were, I'd dropped using Font Explorer due to being able to put the job's fonts in Applications/InDesign (whichever version you're using)/Fonts. They just 'show up'; never had to load via FE.
But you gotta go in every few days and Trash what's in there, depending on throughput, of course. You can have them in a named folder for the job inside there as well; still sees 'em.

.... geez, I just had flashbacks to 'font problems'. TTF, OTF, PostScript®, PC  ... and this one.

... and sorry Tracy, I'd never have made a lawyer; missed the fine print...¬

 :)
It was the FEX I was trying to put in the apps folder.

So what about fonts for illy, do you put them in the systems font folder?

another question, can you put font folders in the indesign fonts?
or do they have to be out of a folder?

Joe

If you just want all Adobe apps to see the fonts you can put them in:

/Users/~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Fonts

If you want all apps to seem them put them in:

/Users/~/Library/Fonts

Not sure about subfolders in the Indy Document Fonts folder. Easy way to find out is try it and and see.

Just remember...it's only printing. Don't let it get to you. Life is too short. Stop and smell the roses. :rotf:

On my way!
I would actually consider it but have some reasons I can't leave San Diego :(

When I create New Folders they are not highlighted, kind of a pain to have to click the folder to name it.

I did find that if you select several items, you can Control Command N and it will put all items in a folder

Joe

I can give people a lot of reasons why they shouldn't come here. ;D
