We just had the ECRM tech in here looking at our CAT 88 and he had bad news. This is our "backup" platesetter and since we bought it used we never made a plate with it. Seems there is a issue with the lasers or some such so it's a paperweight now. He does have some ideas to get it working but not too hopeful. Since it's a but old I'm

What are the current costs of a new and or used machines? Is there a certian one I should be looking at? I know screen makes most of them and the get re-branded.

You drinking this early?

Lots of threads about platemakers recently. We're also going to be in the market for one maybe later this year once a new press comes in. I'll be posting specifics when I know more.

I've always used Creodak plate setters with good results.
