That's about what ours are spec'd at too, slightly more RAM but a different GPU. Newer maybe but less VRAM?

"There's been a lot of research recently on how hard it is to dislodge an impression once it's been implanted in someone's mind. (This is why political attack ads don't have to be true to be effective. The other side can point out their inaccuracies, but the voter's mind privileges the memory of the original accusation, which was juicier than any counterargument ever could be.)"

So, that's what it's like working at a modern print shop?

<====green with envy.

Those 4 Ghz i7 32 gb RAM ultra HD machines are around $4K. We'll never see those in my shop. We shop the refurbished aisles. :rotf:

Currently we're running late 2013 27" iMacs that are not Ultra HD and they have 8 gb RAM with an i5 CPU. Start InDesign and you have time to go make breakfast and eat it and go to the bathroom before it is ready to roll. :undecided:

I'm on a dual core 2g Xenon with 11g of 1.33g memory and a 7300 GT with 256m of VRAM. At least I got a SSD when I upgraded the RAM but still, cry me a river about startup times.

When ever I have to problem solve on our other prepress iMac that has a standard hard drive. A good machine spec wise, i5 Processor, 16 gigs, of ram, etc etc. Everything takes forever to load. Indesign is up and running on mine in 5 seconds or so.

I have an old Mac Mini I use to run Fiery XF for our Epson 9900. Repurposed it after upgrading reception to an iMac. Added an SSD to the mac mini and it flies!

If it was not for the SSD, this machine would be barely useable... at least by my standards.

This week will be different.... for there is a chill in the air and clouds in the sky. Winter is near and my fur bristles at it.
