I also found that Pagemaker now opens direct into INDD with CS5. NOW I can retire my G4 finally with Classic.

Like, differently than previous CS versions?

Please elaborate :)

I have a quarterly rag done by a 100 year old moron in ragemaker that I'd love to deal with some other way. She invariably has 4+ rounds of alts and I'm wearing out my stomach lining doing this thing in antique software.

My moron is 70+ years also. In previous CS versions the tracking was usually fubarred but CS5 seems to have it correct.  Not sure about CS5.5.

how does it deal with every single link on every single page is an embedded graphic that is then stretched, scaled, and colored something other than what it should be? :drunk3:

oh and how about 1000 random fonts used but not provided?

Yeah I just sub all of them with Times Roman variants... but it's still annoying

I'd make a PDF out of Ragemaker and then compare the pain required as to the least work path. Not sure about the coloured tiffs as my moron was beat on the melon by me over the years - change your ways or I charge you made him listen very closely.

I make a postscript out of ragemaker. It's good from there, has to be because if I had to fix pdfs afterwards the cycle of changes would be unmanageable. It's what it takes to get to that point is what's painful. Extracting, fixing, relinking all the embedded crap, fixing type, dealing with ragemaker's lack of any sort of useful features. The usual.
