Anyone got any ideas on this mystery...

Customer supplied PDF from Publisher file (PDFCreator/Ghostscript), when file is PDFx-1a'd thru' IDCS3 the resulting file has all the characters when viewed in Acrobat Pro 8, when rendered by ApogeeX all fractions go missing - we thought ah PC different character map etc.So we drop customers PDF into Illustrator CS3 but the fractions are there. Drop same file into Apogee and fractions are still there. So exporting out of ID to PDFx1-a instigates the issue.

Our workaround was to take the ID imposed file and print to a ps file and distill that.
The job then rendered correctly, but why did the fractions go awol?

Thanks for sending me those files. I tried the same thing with ID CS2 (both Mac and PC) and CS3, rendering with both CPSI and APPE in ApogeeX 4.0. Those fractions are always visible on the output. This just shows how tricky troubleshooting sometimes can be!
