Blue rule-ups/grid-lines

Could someone with better PhSh skills than me, (most of b4p I suspect), tell me what the blue lines are. Not so much what the dezinger intended as their usefulness, rather; I assume it's flattened file (bog-standard jpeg), so why are they not appearing after render in XMF, when I fully expect them to?

Just Photoshop guides. You can turn them off here and you can completely clear them if you want to also.
