We don't do KIB. We also don't do FIFO, GIGO, or RTFM.

I don't go for back door shenanigans.

I do issue the occasional FU and KMA, depending on the circumstance

We often get PDFs with fonts not embedded. In almost every case the PDF has been produced on a PC from Word, so we open up the PDF on our PC and use Pitstop to embed the fonts usually Times New Roman and Arial families), figuring the fonts on our box are the same as Joe Schmoe's.

Actually got one of these last night. Output from Word. Fonts not embedded. Handled it the same. And I didn't really care if it came out right or not.

Amen to that.  Anyone who does their 'artwork' in Word deserves any old crap output.  Fonts not right? - 'cos you did it in Word . . . Pics black + white? - 'cos you did it in Word . . . Logos have white / black backgrounds? - 'cos you did it in Word etc.

Then there's the numpties who do their artwork in Publisher . . .

We just lost a job becasue it was all done in word. It was quoted low with the stipulation that it comes in as print ready PDFs. Files come in as a mess of word documents with no determinable naming convention and no way to figure out how it goes together. We tell the broker this and a few days later he emails back that three other shops in the area have no issues with the files. We tell him have at it. I'm just glad I don't have to deal with the mess.
