Enfocus / Re: Reorganizing the PDF file
September 06, 2019, 10:50:51 AM
My work around would still be tedious, but would save some time.
Create multiple page Illustrator file with the appropriately sized art boards, stacked orientation, copy the BEFORE file and paste into Illustrator while zoomed out, the art will land across the multiple art boards. Center the art as needed using Illustrators align tools, resize the the art boards if needed in Acrobat.

Good luck.

Use Chrome and load the FontNinja app.

Go to their website and it lists the font as Georgia.

The Rest... / Re: What's wrong with this pdf?
August 21, 2018, 04:30:34 PM
That's some weird shit.
Try this. I converted it to a Word doc from Acrobat, opened doc in Word and saved as a PDF. Opened that conversion in Illy and it then can be seen and edited. Have no idea why.

Uncheck in preferences / general / use preview bounds

I had this same issue a while ago, kudos to Pedro for showing me the light.

Nothing can kill the Grimace!

Are you bringing back the shamrock shakes, soon?
Haven't had a Shamrock Shake for ages.
Mrs. Grimace and I do throw a pretty decent St Patty's day party each year. Gads!, it's right around the corner. How'd that happen?

If the link is missing, try opening the AI file in Acrobat, then edit some small piece of the file and re save.
Open back up in AI, you should get a warning that the file has been edited outside of illustrator and you will have the option of keeping the changes or discarding. Keep the changes, the file should now be embedded in the links panel.

It sounds like you have a handle on it, but the above suggestion saves me countless hours of trying to get the links form customers.
It may just allow you to see if there is any change in appearance.

This is where I needed to click, not intuitive to me, but then again, I can't post a picture on a forum, so...

Okay, I had these saved as TIFF files, that was the issue :-[

This first attachment was what I saw initially when searching for the feature in CWS

Digital Printing / Command Workstation Queues
May 01, 2017, 08:51:59 AM
Hey all, been a busy year here.
We just got a Canon C700 with Fiery. I am somewhat familiar with the Command Workstation interface, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to change the Printed Queue to show more than 10 jobs. The goog only led me to a post from 2012 that no longer holds true. Any body got a clue about this?

Macintosh / Re: If OWC had to create this

Not trying to start nothing, but does anybody carry around an extra SD card for their phone?
What data do you have that it would be needed? Keep in mind I'm no power user, and still have what i consider to still be new iPhone 6, but I've never come close to maxing out storage. Anyway, I'm with ya on the upgrade fever people seem to have, I usually wait until 2 years before upgrading, but the 7 seemed just like the 6, 6s, so I'll wait.

Random Technology / Re: Mesh Wifi-Hype?

I'm not very tech savvy anymore so i just bought the Apple Airport Extreme. Stupid name to be sure, but I get access all over the house, outside, and at the neighbors (on the side my office is). I only have a 1700 sq foot house though.
One thing I like about Apple's set up: they make it really easy to set up an invisible network. I don't like to broadcast that my network exists, even when protected with good password.

Quote from: Tracy on November 17, 2016, 10:17:30 AMYou know when you print to a copier and you sometimes get those boxes?I just figured out that the Konica Bizhub we have can handle it, without flattening.
If I drag the file into CWS instead of print from Acrobat it works
also you can see the icon is different, it says pdf rather than ps (postscript)?
I think it has some kind of a print engine? This would of been good info when they went thru the copier with us.
sheesh

Ours will sometimes work with transparency by dragging the PDF to CWS...and sometimes it won't. Just depends on what kind of mood the copier is in that day I think.
Usually the "boxes" are caused by a transparent TIFF in my experience. Also depends upon the parent program prior to PDF.
Sometimes Indesign will show a box due to a trans effect like drop shadow. Illustrator usually shows when Multiply is active. Come to think of it, the Multiply effect gives both my Rip and Fiery fits. In CWS under the Color tab turning on Composite Overprint will remedy the box, but then sometimes creates other issues elsewhere in the file. I have not tried to direct drop method, I will give it a try, good tip!
