Crashes on Illy CS3

Daughter overdue for RAM and new internal HDD on Pro tower...ordering from OWC tonight. In the meantime: opens Illy CS3, attempts to Place file>crash.
Crash log seems to be referring to a memory issue, which wouldn't surprise me.
She is currently dragging stuff off her only HDD, in the meantime, to try and muddle through. It's loaded well beyond the Plimsoll Mark. Don't ask. When she's got it below 15% free space.. :rolleyes:..she'll have another go.

In the meantime...OSX does VM automatically, right? Any tweaks in Illy/Adobe...short term?

In theory you should have around 10% of free disk space for memory/page swapping. It's all handled by the OS.

More free space and ram will solve your problem as you suspect

check file size of imported image - is it like - a zillion meg

shut down non essential software - are like a zillion packages open?

where's the offending image - local or over a network?

trash prefs, crackerjack, try again

restart to reset ram of all kinds, open just illy and start over

just for starters ok
