Yeah, about 7 years with our XMF and never seen that either. agree with Tracy, re-make the PDF, maybe from a different workstation?

If you're comfortable, I can test it on our RIP too. Curious what Adobe has to say about it.

40 inch color negative?  never seen one

They're monochrome, line work only. It's all targets - in a TON of different sizes & variations. The owner was so old school, he never converted any of them to digital files-didn't see the need. Now we have the need.

So, turns out there IS a place (within about 40 min of here) that specializes in maps & repro and can handle them! I believe we'll only do them as orders come in, who knows how many of the negs are even still needed. Maybe we can send a few for test scans at least & see how clean they come back.

Nah, all B&W line work from what I've seen.

That's my dilemma, I don't even know who (if anybody) has scanners that large any longer. If I'd had more time, I might have been able to have the previous folks make at least contact prints on the frame, but there's no time now.

My other hope is that maybe they have prints on hand & I can send those out to be scanned, maybe somebody with like those large architectural/blueprint scanners that handle larger flat sheets. Most of this work is line art at least, so that's one less thing to worry about as far as quality goes.

So, it appears we've "acquired" a shop that has an extensive library of - negatives. Yup, and many of them are large, 30-40" and I don't expect there are prints I have scanned. is there anybody who even does negative scanning anymore to digital?

Wait, when did that come out? I've been wrangling Licenses between Users for like 6 years now because they were all purchased individually. They were Yearly renewals, but I've converted them all to Perpetual since it'll pay off in about 2-3 years. I wonder if I can use the Workgroup Manger to make it easier when people/hardware are replaced.

I tried both ways. The default was actually GPU Performance off.

This has only happened since I installed on a newer Mac Mini, most times when I go to edit text within a frame, it will disappear while I'm typing no matter the zoom level. The only way to make it re-appear is to zoom in or out.

I've got Display Performance Settings to High, Greek below 7pt & the GPU Performance is on, no Animated zoom.

InDesign is 17.4.1 (I have newer, but stick with this mostly because our SmartStream License is tired to it)
Mac is a Mini M1 running OS 13.4.1
