Quote from: Santa on May 14, 2018, 11:00:42 AMWe just got our new invoice order and they say ours is jumping up to $79.99 per month per user for the Team plan. We have 11 users which means we are going to have to pay $10,558.68 per year for the pleasure of using the Adobe products.

Guess it's time to buy Adobe stock.

Or some lube...

Quote from: Tracy on November 28, 2017, 08:59:33 AMFonty if you do the trial let us know how it works.
I don't think my file was typical

I downloaded the trial, but when I went to convert the PDF to InDesign, I got a request for a password...  :-/

Quote from: Tracy on November 27, 2017, 04:31:12 PMI think it might work for a Newsletter, on the trial you are limited
to 4 pages and 3 sessions,
It puts a water mark on its own layer
(delete layer)

I emailed Pdf2id to see if they will try and make my pdf work
I already manually transferred everything.
But if they can show me it will work I will get it.

oops, just remembered it will lower the resolution of your
images for the trial, I didn't have images in my pdf.

That's fine -- new images are going into the new issues.

These are 12-page newsletters, though...

I actually have two PDF files that I need converted to InDesign files too, if anyone can help me out...

They're newsletters that I need to recreate as InDesign templates.

At my old place, most of the white keyboards were a light brown/gray from all the dust and various other airborne debris...

Frankly I'm *amazed* that your white keyboard is still that white!

I'm always learning new stuff too, especially at my new job where computers and printing equipment are actually up to date!

The Cloud version of Adobe Creative Suite is a revelation, for starters...

Quote from: david on October 01, 2014, 10:50:13 AMohh, I found it.

it's 25 mb, here's a screen cap to show the size, etc.

Is there any way I could get a copy of this, only saying "COPY" instead of "VOID"?

Sadly I no longer have that file. I left it at my previous employer.

Crud...

I've had to learn Quite Imposing on the fly at my new job and I'm pretty impressed with it so far!

Yes, there's a learning curve, but if your guy is smart, he should be able to work it out... (Famous last words!)

General Prepress / Re: New Gig

Oddly enough, I just got a sort-of new job myself.

The printing company I'd been working at for 16 years, finally gave up the ghost and merged with another local printing company.

Fortunately, I was part of the merger along with the company's printing files and customer information.

Same rate of pay, same commute time, full-time hours for the first time in a couple years, much busier place!

Quote from: Farabomb on May 26, 2016, 11:03:33 AMPing the Win 10 from the XP box. If it can see it then it can talk to it. Pretty sure Joe hit the nail on the head though. Figure if M$ is shitty enough to upgrade itself, it probably didn't install the printer or share it.

It must have installed the printer drivers on its own hard drive, because that printer is in constant use by the W10 computer...

How do I go about sharing the printer, or making it sharable with the XP dinosaur?  It's been so long since I've had to do this that I dont' remember!

Cheers,
John the Fontaholic :drunk3:

Right click the printer on the Win 10 machine. Sharing is on one of the options I think. Or in one of the options from the right click. Should be easy to find.

Before I left today, I right-clicked on the Windows 10 printer icon and enabled sharing for it.  Also got the IP address from the Windows Command prompt like you suggested.

Now all I need to do is turn on the ol' XP machine and see what, if anything, I can do to get these two pieces of silicon talking to each other again...
