Pitstop pro crop action?

Is there a way to use global change to crop 1/8" on all sides of a document? I'd like to be able to save it as an action - we send pdf proofs, and I like for clients to see the final trim, not the document with bleed.

What version of Pitstop. In 9 & 10 there is the Design Layout Panel that will do it. In Ver. 7 it was called the Pitstop Cropping Tool but it will do it also. Not sure what it was called in ver. 8. In version 7 I think you just had to manually do it to each document but I think in version 10 you can create an action to do it.

Yes, there are actions for that. Pretty straight forward depending on how the PDF's are setup.

Pitstop version 7.5.2.
So, "there are actions for that" - ? Can you point me in any certain direction?

This is from Pitstop 10 but hopefully there is something similar in 7.

does document/crop pages work for you?
I never used the action in 7 but I used the crop pages alot.

In version 10 I use the Design Layout Panel and yes it does work for me.

Document/Crop Pages is not part of Pitstop. It is the Acrobat Crop tool. To use it you have to select which page box you want to crop.

Edited to add: When you do use Document/Crop Pages it doesn't really get rid of any data, ie...cropping it out. It just hides it from view.

Changing the media box to the trim box will do it as Joe showed. But you can also do it with the crop box. You can also set negative values for situations where you do not have one of the page boxes. You don't need the design layout panel for this, but it can be useful.

there looks to be an action called resize page to letter that you can edit

Are you wanting to crop or resize? Make sure the resize to letter isn't reducing the size of your content unless you really want it to.

You might want to check out the "Change page box layout" action in Pitstop 7.x

How come you are still using Pitstop 7? You have Pitstop 10 right?

I am using 10 I was trying to help the guy
which I really shouldn't since I need so much help myself :grin:
