Unfortunately my boss won't spend the $$$ on PitStop which means figuring it out the old way, or the painful way. I also have to trap all files manually, at least InDesign does trapping of it's own elements. Anyway, I've notice more grey text out of MSO-2010 than in previous versions. I use the default Preflight BW setting to make my MS PDFs greyscale and this created black text in the past.
The particular project I was working on that brought me to this site (and it's still in bindery as I type this) is a native Publisher file with 5 color pages interspersed throughout the 118 page file. Which means getting the file set up correctly so that the Konica 6500 will only charge a black click for BW pages and color for the color pages. Using the built-in Preflight setting in Acrobat produces grey text and most customers don't notice or don't care, but there's the boss He doesn't want to spend the $$ but wants me to have the headache. He's a nice guy.
I'll have to peruse the rest of the threads and see what else is going on in here. Back to rocking The Turd.
