Title: LD threshold for calibration
Post by: Stiv on August 16, 2011, 11:40:12 AM
Have a PTR 8600 & Fuji 9000, when calibrating the LDs I get a message that some cannot be calibrated. I run a measure and they might read from 98% to 101%.

I understand that there are 32 lasers that run on 2 banks of 16 and when an LD is too low the device changes to expose a plate with only 1 bank of LDs, thus slowing the device essentially to half speed.

My question is how low of a % can the LDs be and still be called good? What LD % does the device have to reach before it steps down to just 1 bank of lasers?

As the LD % degrades, the power to the LD is adjusted to bring the % back to 100%.

To just read the % that the LD is currently at does not mean that the LD is near or at its end-of-life.
