Quote from: Syphon on June 03, 2010, 07:30:21 PMOkay how about this:
Click the TouchUp Object Tool (Tools>Advance Editing), click on the box that has the text in it. Right-click and choose Properties, under the Text tab, click on the Fill swatch and choose the first swatch that looks black. Then go under the Color tab and change Convert To: Black & White. Click Convert Colors. Your text should come up as 100% Black in the PDF. The only downside is that all the text in the box will turn black.

Tried that, too. As I'm sure you're familiar with, that only works on the selected "line" of text, which is sometimes only one character or just a few words in an actual paragraph. Opening this PDF in Illy, you can see how many text paths result in files like this. Something to do with kerning/tracking in Word, I imagine.

Although I was using the Touch Up Text tool. Tomorrow I'll try the Touch Up Object tool and see if it will recolor all the text in a selected box. More job security.

Try this...

You're sending me to a Microsoft support page? I thought we were kind of friends.

I'll peek at it tomorrow...quickly.

Actually looks useful for when someone bludgeons you with a Word file.

Humanity: from the aggressive armies of Mongoloids roaming the Asian steppes armed with spiked clubs, ready to bludgeon anything that moves to...the slow-witted, docile masses who hand you a .doc on a floppy. Same thing.

Rat, your call. I want a Mongoloid steppe-roamer, wielding an oversized floppy as a weapon, (think one of those Ninja flick-star/spiked things), on my desk by Monday morning, or it's...  I'll let you know.   :undecided:

Tracy,

Still results in screened type. There is no way around this without Pitstop or printing to Black & White Postscript like DCS did.

Don't mind a bit of sick humour, Tracy, but that's pushing the limit.
