Try Serif Gothic, ITC Machine, maybe Revue?
Then there's Juniper, Hobo, Ironwood / Mesquite for certain themes?

Use Helvetica. This is the superior designer's font. It has all the subtlety of Arial, without any of the inherent vulgarity.
