Font vs Typefaces

When a RIP has issues, "it's always a font" is the answer from Tech support.

Why is it never a Typeface?

It's always prepress's fault so why not?
Speed doesn't kill, rapidly becoming stationary is the problem

I'd rather have stories told than be telling stories of what I could have done.

Yea, whenever I think of PC I think of this forum.

Five left now and I just consider a "font" to be a computer file (or a series of files depending on the flavor) and if you want to get nerdy with those in the know you can spew around terms like typeface, serif, glyph, and such. I once chatted with a "graphic designer" who asked me "what's serif?"  :death: I just dumb myself down to the masses and tell them we need the fonts without getting technical or artsy.

I know Paul Barnes would twitch about that, but whatever.
