you have a shape that you did crop marks on and now you can't select them?
I just did one, I was able to select the marks (independent of the work), and then un-grouped them as was then able to select the individual mark.
Are these on a locked layer?
Is the item locked?

layer not locked are you creating your marks with effect/crop marks?
I know there used to be 2 ways to create marks, I must be doing it wrong.

you may need to do what Corn suggested. Add your crop marks, then select the whole shebang and expand. The crop marks should be selectable after that (you may need to un-group after the expand).
