Folding

Tracy:
Is there a minimum gap for a roll fold?
I have a 4 panel roll fold and the last panel is about a 1/4" shorter than the previous
Is this ok or does it need to be a smaller gap for the folder?

born2print:
Hey T, we go -1/16" per panel.
so an example for a 4" 4panel would be 3 7/8 - 3 15/16 - 4 - 4    for the outside, flop for inside (unless reverse-roll-fold)

so your 1/4" compensation is 1/8" more than ideal, but may be ok for the job

Tracy:
Do you tell your customers to fix the folds? or do you fix it yourself?

oh and thanks!

Farabomb:
We use .123 here for every panel that tucks.

We often fix it ourselves, even if it's a pdf, we use InDesign to assemble as 3-4 separate graphics per side and move the panel art 1/2 of the shortened amount (which re-centers it)
