Seems like someone else is giving this a go...

ProjectQ, the $799 Mac Pro replacement

and the actual website of the product...

Interesting but I'll believe when I see Apple not sue their pants off.

So there is still hope for a MacPro-type tower now that Apple has stopped making them....

My friend was building a hackintosh but I'm not sure how far he got.

I think Apple still makes them don't they? I know it was rumored once they were going to stop but I thought Apple decided to keep making them.

I'm posting from home on a HP Mini netbook I bought for $25. I remember hackintosh builds for this device, wonder if I care enough to try it. I doubt it, I have a mac and it doesn't get used nearly as much as this cheapo netbook or my phone.

Well I'll be damned - they do still make a Mac Pro. I thought they put them out with the trash a couple of years ago...

There was a rumor but I think that is all it was.

Maybe no hackintosh on second thought, it's an Atom with Intel 945 graphics. Kinda shitty actually but I love it for $25

i have a dell dual core laptop running some version of hackintosh os.. everything works well except the bluetooth, but i dont use it..
tried installing it on several hardware builds, the dell seemed to have the winning combo of crap installed.

other than dicking around and saying that a made it work, its pretty useless. i wouldnt dump any amount of effort into a pc build with a hacked OS..

since the tablet & xbox360, the 'ol PC is a dead horse. strictly workstation stuff and dvd ripping is about all that its used for.

So would anyone recommend buying this? Or is it a rip? Will it run an older Mac OSX?

So,  :drunk3: i send the job to the rip with live transparecy (v 1.7 or whatever) and it craps out with a memory error.

Not me. It might be. Probably not.

If it's possible to multi boot the thing I'd consider it for my next computer. The price is right (there are other models too) and the ablity to load any OS, OC the chip and upgradablity sure sounds like a decent product.

It says any OS so I don't see why you couldn't load a older version of OSX on it. I don't see a floppy so I guess Win 3.11WG is out of the question. Hmm, it says any OS but what if the OS doesn't support all the new fancy architecture? If it could it can replace my NT box I have here that I'm just waiting for it to shit the bed.

Could you partition it to run both Linux & Mac?
