General Prepress / Re: Basic Computer Operation

I think if you apply for a job that USES a computer, you'd better know how to turn it on, navigate your way around it, and do anything basic that that job requires. If new software is introduced to your job, then, yes - your employer is responsible for training you - BUT I don't think that they need to sit next to you and hold your hand all day.

Chelle, I do not have a horse. I mean I have a tub O' glue, but that doesn't count, does it? Okay, maybe I do have a horse.
Heh. No - I don't think you have a horse. But mine may be for sale soon.

But - back ON topic - I vote for shiny new iMacs.

Quote from: DigitalCrapShoveler on January 29, 2010, 09:52:06 AMWhat a waste of time. I bet he even got a government grant to test it.... as he giggled and laughed and spent the grant money on crank and hookers.
Hey- as long as he spent it in AMERICA!

We have at least one that I know of at our other location. We send small jobs (such as short runs of full color business cards) over there to run when it will be cheaper to do them that way rather than throw them on a big press. I have heard some talk about getting one in here at some point - maybe - but have seen no progress in that area. I guess when shipping jobs from another state becomes an issue, it will change.

I have been saved and now have minimal contact w/our CSR's. My franchise work was given to someone w/almost nothing to do so they could stay busy since I have more than enough work to keep me (mostly) out of trouble until my plane takes off...
