"There's been a lot of research recently on how hard it is to dislodge an impression once it's been implanted in someone's mind. (This is why political attack ads don't have to be true to be effective. The other side can point out their inaccuracies, but the voter's mind privileges the memory of the original accusation, which was juicier than any counterargument ever could be.)"
― Johnny Carson

"Selling my soul would be a lot easier if I could just find it."
– Nikki Sixx

"Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut."
― Ernest Hemingway

We just upgraded all of our Macs to CS5 at the end of last year. It ran us over $20K.

not bad, if you upgrade from 5.5 to 6, it's a steal at $375. Upgrade from 5, it's over $700 smackdown.

Or, you can go with the Cloud for $360 (for one year, introductory price or education pricing).

Not sure which is the better deal yet...

Has anybody had the cajones to just tell clients outright "Look, we're not jumping on the latest & greatest version until it's been out for a while. Save your files back to the most recent previous version, or follow our PDF Guidelines."

Stop the Madness!!!!  :drunk3: :drunk3: :death: :drunk3: :drunk3:  :drunk3: :drunk3:

We pretty much insist on PDF files these days. Can't remember the last native job I did but I do remember it was in Quark.

We have an outside vendor that insists that we send the Illy CS3 files only. They won't even take a PDF. So, kinda what you said, but not really.

The beauty of this whole scam is that it includes Acrobat X and in just a few short months Adobe will release CS 6.5 with Acrobat XI. Early adoption is not one of my favorite things but if you don't upgrade to each new version it ends up costing the same or more if you skip a version when you do finally upgrade. Adobe has you by the short hairs no matter what you do.
