Is it possible to convert color to BW in XMF

with the (don't laugh) Brisque we just ripped to a BW Que and it worked pretty good.
going to look into it now.

I got a crappy job but a bunch of pages
I will convert in pitstop if I have to, just thought XMF could do a better job? not sure

Tracy

Im ruling that out, does the new pitstop have a better greyscale conversion?

Tracy

Used pitstop, had to adjust a few images but went ok.
I think pitstop 2020 has a better capability for conversion now, must learn

Joe

You can use Pitstop actions in XMF preflights to convert to grayscale and use whatever color profile gives you good results.

Yeah, what Joe said. I'd find an Action you like/trust then add it to the XMF list. It's in the Prefs-somewhere-then you select the little airplane icon once the job's open and you can all the Pitstop Actions you want!
A little diddie 'bout black 'n cyan...two reflective colors doin' the best they can.

I used pitstop I need to work on Black and white profiles, I did see ABC doing something with Black and white
with the new 2020 Black Point compensation I think, I must learn this, Theres always issues with me converting to K
I always have to adjust something manually

Thanks Guys!!!

Joe

Tracy, attached is an .icc profile that we use when processing color pages that need to be converted to grayscale through Prinergy. It is the best profile I've found for converting both images and text to grayscale in the same conversion.

CMYK > Grey Scale....late info...works exceptional

> View Job Settings > Select Colour Icon > Scroll to Bottom > Document Colour Space > Coated GRACol 2006(Default) > Select Green Arrow Down (this Opens Hidden Menu) > Output Colour Conversion All Types > Select > Override Device Link Profile > Select FFDLPGray Preserve Single Black 1 > Save > All Pages have now been converted to Grey Scale

to Convert Individual Pages > Select page/pages in Job Structure > procedure as above

I don't know anything at all about XMF.

I'm just bored, and wanted to be included in the conversation.

(This is why political attack ads don't have to be true to be effective. The other side can point out their inaccuracies, but the voter's mind privileges the memory of the original accusation, which was juicier than any counterargument ever could be.)"
