Anyone have Quark2Id plugin that would be willing to convert a catalog for us? Just checking in case we go that route instead of dining on the vomit of last year's (and the several years preceding) Quack nightmare. Trying to get some excel we can suck into indy using Grep styles to redo this massive price list.

Yeah, I got it. I'd be happy to. Let me know.

not sure if there are Grep styles in cs3 but it wouldn't matter, we can always upsave it to any of the other 4 versions we have installed.

That's ok the file is a mess, bunch of spaces and what not
I don't think I even want to attempt the transfer, but then again
I have never used quark to indesign.

Possum

I think it's also moved to a subscription instead of a purchase. Wish I'd gotten it when it was just a flat rate. Every so often the owner makes noises about upgrading to CC, but he won't believe that you can't just convert a Quark document with something from Adobe.
Tall tree, short ropes, fix stupid.

Joe

InDesign used to be able to import Quark 4 files. Not sure if it still can or not.

Probably, but even my files aren't that old.

Well if you owned Quark 2016 you could back save to Quark 2015.

Then if you owned Quark 2015 you could back save to Quark 10.

Then if you owned Quark 10 you could back save to Quark 9.

Then if you owned Quark 9 you could back save to Quark 8.

Then if you owned Quark 8 you could back save to Quark 7.

Then if you owned Quark 7 you could back save to Quark 6.

Then if you owned Quark 6 you could back save to Quark 5.

Then if you owned Quark 5 you could back save to Quark 4.

Then you could open it in InDesign....if it will still open a Quark 4 file! :rotf:

I saw online where you can pay 7$ to get it converted, which is pretty good.
but giving a stranger our customer files, not so good.

Yeah, I wouldn't wish that on people I hate, much less a stranger.

How urgent Tracy. I have it, but we're on 10.6.8. Older everything. If you wanna send a ZIP's folder with the quack in it...I'll see if I can do it.
I'll PM my webmail.
