Oops. Was part-way through copying a large (ex XMF) PDF from our server. Had another next to it on the Desktop. Not quite sure how I manged it, but instead of Trashing the one I wanted to, managed to still have the incoming PDF selected, and hit Cmd+Opt+Del. OSX not happy, Jan, trying to Trash an incomplete PDF.
Ended up buttoning off, and restarting into applejack. Happy ending, but  ---->   :embarrassed:

Was that a near-death experience, or am I just being dramatic? When I'd gone into Force Quit window, trying to relaunch Finder just made it disappear. Then Acrobat seemed to be the default Finder menu bar, but no Desktop goodies/files/folders. Wasn't pretty. PICNIC problem.

Pretty common Finder behavior after a user does something "unexpected".
