Works fine on server.

Can't find preferences for Workshop...  :banghead: :banghead:

Can't reinstall workshop 5.2 on OSX 10.7 from what I hear. Only can do so with Prinergy 5.3 and above.

Man, it's only monday and I'm already ready to call it a week...

So tried the unmounting and letting Prinergy mount the drives. No luck. When I add a password in the keychain, I add it as a password and the title is the name of the server and then user name and password araxi and ARAXI, right?

Pretty frustrating.

Noticed my right click doesn't work with my mouse too. Read this is a known problem with the mighty mouse and 10.7. Yay.

So... did that, went through the steps... and no luck...

Can I go home and get drunk now?

What were you trying to accomplish by doing that?

Trying to get the PDFs to open in Prinergy. Still just hangning.

It showed the primary and IP address already in the list. I just added the Insite server and IP in case it needed it.

Little help...

When I open the Directory Utility this is what I see (attached).

Instructions say to Open the Padlock (which is already open) and enable the root user, defining its password.

Where is that?

I tried that way but when I click on the server name and connect I don't get a protocol option.

Does it default to smb connecting that way?

So putting aside my downgrading headaches, I still can't get Workshop to let me open PDFs or open File Folders. I've left it alone for well over an hour and nothing. And there is definitely not a ton of jobs on the J drive right now. Pretty slow around here actually. Hence my brilliant idea to upgrade my OS.

Attached is a screenshot of me connecting to the server with smb. This is how you do this right Joe? Feel like an idea asking this but it's killing me that this isn't working and I feel like I'm doing everything correctly!

Yeah I don't see a second partition in disk utility. But it's a MAC! It's suppose to be smarter than I am!!

crap wasn't what I just said out loud though... ;)

reformat means the entire HD correct? Not just the system partition, assuming OSX uses a system partition without me says so...

Quote from: Joe on January 10, 2013, 06:05:32 PMWe are on Prinergy 5.2 but I found that for 5.0 and above you need to connect the drive via SMB using the name of the PC and not the IP address. We always have problems if they are mounted with the IP address. I know you said you tried that but double check and make sure none of them are mounted via the IP address. In fact I would dismount them all and reconnect them all using the name of the server when you reconnect. Also the first time you try to connect an SMB drive that has a lot of files it may take forever...like the jobs drive.  Tell it to open Job Folder in File Browser and go to lunch and see if it is working when you return. After you finally get it mounted it shouldn't take as long after that.

Gave this a shot this morning> Ejected the drives and reconnected using smb and server name. I clicked to job folder now and am currently waiting....

Unfortunately I think I'm screwed if Preps doesn't work. Doubt the check signer will let me get any new software. So this may all be for not.

So next potential step, regressing to 10.6.8. Is this an easy task? I have the install disc, is it just running the installer again or am I looking at a full reformat to do this?

So for some dumb reason I pushed aside the age old reasoning "if it ain't broke don't fix it" and decided to upgrade my mac from 10.6 to 10.7.

Upgrade went fine, except for a couple things. Preps 5.3 no longer works and when I click on a refined PDF in Prinergy 5.1 to open it in Acrobat nothing happens. Get the spinning wheel and then nothing. Same if I try to open the open Job Folder in File Browser. Spinning wheel and then locks up Prinergy.

Tried connecting with the IP and the server name. Tried mounting the drives as smb (which would mount fine) but then tried to mount the drive with afp and it failed to connect.

Although I can browse the network and connect to the server main just fine. I can open all the files on the J drive fine, just not through Prinergy.

Ideas?

Switching to a chem-free plate. Anyone want a plate processor? Can provide more details if interested.
