wow! No more need for CT Res? I can't wait!! Let's hope the big boss man will go for it. I think he likes the price tag of rampage better. I hope that doesn't sway what is the best decision.

How do you like Harmony and color management on Prinergy?
#407
That's what I wanted to hear guys! So Jim, was that file you were printing to the rampage rip a ps file or PDF? And did we clearify if rampage is definately not a PDF workflow? If so, that alone I think would be the deciding factor. It looks like the PDF workflow is the newest technology when it comes to RIPs. And I've read that the rampage trapping engine is really slow. We love the FAF on the brisque. Is this still in place in Prinergy?

absolutely. The techs in our region are great! I'm not bashing them at all. They are very helpful.

I want the best workflow and not necessarily the best service. If the system is stable and the most effective and the price tag isn't too high, I would pick that workflow over a slightly less intuitive workflow with awesome support.

I'm thinking Prinergy is the way to go, I guess I want someone to talk me out of it if I'm wrong. The $$ for RAMpage is less and I know the owner will take RAMpage over Prinergy before of that. As long as RAMpage is a decent system. I've just been reading a lot and trying to find the benefit of one system over the other. And my eyes are going to fall out of my head if I ready anymore so I thought this would be a great place to get some guru advise.  ;)

;D That's why I come here to the "Expert" forum. I only trust a sales rep as far as I can throw them. I wanted to hear from the everyday users. So you think the support is better for RAMpage? I tell you what, I have noticed a bit of a decline of support when Kodak bought Creo. shame... shame...

So RAMpage is a ps workflow? I thought it was a PDF workflow as well?
#411
Ya, I figured there wouldn't be a ton of multi-workflow users out there. But for the guys who switch jobs and have to use a different workflow or the guys like me who are looking to change workflows, I thought there would be a couple. For us, it will either be Prinery or RAMpage. We are happy with the Brisque but have found real limitations when it comes to color management. And since we have Fuji plates and they really want to sell us a new workflow (imagine that), we are trying to decide which workflow (Prinergy or RAMpage) to go with...

No we are using it to send impo's to the Brisque

Quote from: born2print on September 24, 2007, 10:24:35 AMNOTE to Prinergy users that use Preps as floating - launched through Workshop:
To make marks NOT move with creep (shingle) here's how:
1) Use Text edit to open file AraxiPreps/Profiles/PrepsPrinergy/PrepsPrinergy.cfg
2) Find type "ShingleCropMarks: YES" and change YES to "NO"
3) Save and close config file.

Note, If you run Preps from the desktop, you do the same change to the Preps.cfg file and need to do it on each workstation....I think.

Do you know if this will work with a Brisque workflow? I hate it when those marks move. And we run preps off a MAC. So I wonder what that cfg file would be named and where that bad boy is??

So are these reply because that's what you're using and you have to or because you think it's the best  ;)

Is this even a good question? I'm not sure. Our prepress is looking to upgrade from our Brisque to either Prinergy or RAMpage. We use Fuji plates so they are pushing RAMpage and we have a Trendsetter so Kodak is pushing Prinergy  :) So what is the best in everyones opinion? And as far as using FM screening and the best color management capabilities which is better.

Kodak Systems / Re: Any InSite users?
January 18, 2008, 12:25:18 PM
We have been using Insite since with was a baby. One of the initial Beta sites. They have made a number of great upgrades over the years. The interface is smoother and easier for us to find users in accounts.

The only downside I've noticed is how off the color appears on screen. We aren't using the virtual Color software and maybe that would solve the issue. But I get customers all the time that call and ask "it it really going to print that bright??" Insite seems to use an RGB snapshot of the file. And maybe it's because we are still on a Brisque. Anyone with Prinergy have this problem?
