We are a sheetfed folding carton plant, we have an ink tech in and is question our rotation. What is everyone using?
We are running CMYK but he is saying 95% of plants run KCMY.
Thanks
We run CMYK for web and KCMY sheetfed.
KCMY for both sheetfed and web here
KCMY here for Sheetfed only. We do not have a Web.
While I was in sheetfed offset we only ran KCMY. Same with the ex at a sheetfed carton shop.

Well it was helpful till you chimed in.
Thanks all.
As I understand it, you put the lighter colors (magenta/yellow) down last to minimize the amount of muddying from the darker colors as the sheet runs through the press.
MCKY, but the quality of our work really sucks.
your so funny!

KCMY at the sheetfed folding carton hellhole that I used to work at. If metallics and/or spot colours were involved, they would always go down first with metallics always going down first i.e.: MET>SPOT>KCMY.
The last shop I worked in with SF and Web, I have no idea how they were running. But prior to that, we ran KCMY-spot
We run KCMY+Spots here, (unless our press operator gets smart and runs yellow first, gosh then all of the colors look really weird - he couldn't figure out what was wrong). At my previous shop, a flexo shop, they ran lightest to darkest, since most of our flexo work wasn't CMYK it was mostly spot colors. When it was CMYK it was pretty much that order.
