I have trouble understanding this one
On the Pdf I hope is attached I have a 10% Cyan grid that prints no problems
Where the graph show the Bath and Pwr there is a thin grid 100% K
In Illustrator and Pitstop the stroke show 0 width but still prints on laser and Epson
When printed to plate the lines are so thin that is impossible to print, but they are still there
I understand that laser and Epson smudge so the lines appear to be thicker
What I don't understand it is why it prints even if the stroke is set to 0 width
Still not drinking. Never been better

I think if the stroke is turned on it attempts to print it even if set to zero. Some RIPs and preflight will actually make them big enough to print if you set it up that way. If you triple click one of them it will select all of them and then if you un-check the stroke box in Pitstop it will get rid of the lines.

Hi Joe
Thank you for replying
The problem is that the client wants them to print
He checked the proof and OK it
When plated, the lines were too thin.
Now I don't know how to explain him why!
In theory, they shouldn't even be there
I know that files coming from Autocad and exported to Illustrator have different setting for strokes
This client always supply Quark files and they print OK.

I got it!
Thank you Joe for reminding me about the fixing thin lines while ripping
My works only on postscript and not on pdf
When proofing, it creates a ps that is then ripped by matchprint
When plated it does not
This is why it proofs correct but plates too thin
YAHOOOOO

Adriano,

Glad you got it sorted. You can also run a fixup preflight in Acrobat that will fix them too.

Added: Or you can do it with Pitstop too.

For a sinus headache, eat a jalapeno pepper as soon as possible. Within minutes your sinuses will start to drain and the  sinus headache will subside.
I believe that wasabi does also the trick
