David

We just started using the Trillian plates in full production last week. No problems that I know of and a lot better than the sword plate.

Just started about a month ago now, no problems so far. Switched from Thermal Gold, lost 2 ovens and a gumming unit, and changing cubes once a week instead of once every 2-3 days.

How many impressions do you do conventional?

beck

We are trying to get them, but Kodak can't get them in .015" thickness.  Not sure exactly what the story is.

Nevertheless....beck has hit the proverbial nail on the head.

I don't really know what the plates are rated for but most of our runs are 100,000 or lower. Usually much lower than that.

Same here, the .012's are made in China but for some reason the 15's have to come from Germany is what my rep told me.

Not I, but the pressman report the plates are not particularly sensitive to solvent so that's a good sign.

We start testing in a couple weeks.

About the only negative I have to report right now is the rollers in the processor, you really do have to wipe them down daily or you get like a heavy icing that will come off with a water wetted rag (I use scanner wipes) eventually, with enough wiping. Other than that, so far so good. Chemistry is neutral so other than staining the fingers blue, it doesn't feel all slimy or itchy like other stuff can.

I think I need an apron because the stuff will stain everything indigo blue.

We did have a small laser power issue but once Kodak bumped it up a watt from what they initially set it at we've had very stable plate readings, -+1% across the range throughout the day.
