I am having a problem with my 5500 printer.  We are using a HP Universal High Gloss paper.  We are getting scratches on the paper when we run it through.  Even if we don't print we are getting scratches that are not running the direction of the printheads so it's not the printheads.  I suspect it's the rollers that are putting too much pressure on the paper.  Anyone ever run into something like this?  on this paper or other paper using an Designjet 5500?  Thanks in advance!!!!

Hello All,

  I was wondering what other people are doing out there as far as newspaper proofing is concerned.  We use a HP 1055 with Serendipity BlackMagic as our rip.  We print on the end rolls of newspaper stock.  So far it's not working out too well.  We see breaks in the highlights whenever we use the HP so we tried the Epson 9880 but it doesn't produce the rich blacks that we want. Any Suggestions?

 We've been having problems with Preps Marks and Templates disappearing or rather becoming invisible to Preps.  Let me elaborate....  we were running smooth for a few years on Preps 3 then we upgraded to 5 and we were still good for a few more months then all of a sudden when we would search for a template (command+L) the templates would not appear in the list.  If we would navigate through the finder where the templates were located we would see the "missing" templates.  What we did to fix this is move the Templates and Marks folder to a different location.  This fixed the problem for about a month then it happened again.  Anyone else run into this problem?

We are going to buy a new wide format inkjet soon and we need to make the decision between an HPZ6100 or an Epson 11880.  Anyone have any experience with both printers?  I have heard that the HP has some bronzing problems and has problems printing on glossy media.  Anyone have any recommendations as to which printer we should purchase?  Pros Cons?

Is anyone using an Epson 9880 through Nexus?  I was wondering if Nexus was able to drive it at all.  I see that it has a driver for a 9800 but i'm not sure what the deal is with the 9880.  Thanks

Anyone know if it is possible to have spinflow tell the HP it's driving to load a sheet not a roll.  I was doing some testing on some thick stock that can't be loaded as a roll.  Everytime I try running it through spinflow the HP says to load a roll for current job.  Any ideas?  I can't find anything in spinflow that gives me the option for running a sheet. 

 I have tested the GMG Semi Paper, the paper white is closer to Gracol7 paper white 1.70 Detla E. We are currently using Proofline Satin 2.70 Delta E to GRACol 7 paper white. My boss is pushing to use the GMG paper. There is a huge price difference. Over all the papers are very similar. Which paper should I use?

Anyone know where i can get a die for a puzzle?? We have a cutting machine that can cut out any shape and I need to make a puzzle but I don't have a die template. 

is anyone using shuttle with the totalrip?   We are using shuttle to submit all of our jobs through Nexus.  I set up the conditionals in the xml files to ask for linescreen, orientation,  scaling factor and which device to send to when submitting. We have almost no complaints so far.

 Anyone have a copy of ColorMetrix 1.8.10.  I am not asking to pirate the software because we do have a legal copy of it but we lost the installation CD.  We have a dongle that is legit.  Anyone know where I can get this?? maybe a download somewhere??

Does anyone have an HP 1055 and drive it using Nexus???

If so what kind of media do you print on?  Specifically what thickness is your paper???

We are trying to run 8pt sheets through our HP 1055 and the machine says it recieves the information but doesn't print.  I'm sure it's not the printer because if I spool the files through Spinflow it prints with no problem.  Anyone ever run into this???
