I have an Adobe InDesign document that I need to move into Adobe Illustrator. I export a PDF out of InDesign - and open it in Illustrator. When opening the files I get the warning "To preserve appearance, some text has been outlined". Does anyone know of a way to disable this "feature"?

Thanks in advance!

I wonder if maybe there are some effects applied to the text that prevent it from remaining live type during the conversion.

You can copy and paste between the 2 applications, though sometimes that leads to weirdness, too.

Any text that is close to or touching transparency will get outlined.

So,  :drunk3: i send the job to the rip with live transparecy (v 1.7 or whatever) and it craps out with a memory error.

you could try putting all the text in a layer as the top layer?

Does that do anything? I've tried that for printing/RIPping, but not converting to Illy. Also pretty sure layers won't convert once opened in Illy.

not sure if it will help in this case
I have seen rasterized text next to shadows
text above would solve this problem
