I had seen that as another problem some people were having.
I believe in one of the adobe community links above someone mentioned it, not sure what the fix was.
For us it was back to version 2023.003.20244 vie Time Machine backups.
Love those Time Machine backups....oh and make sure you shut off the automatic updates in Acrobat preferences (all the way at the bottom).

Also look out as Adobe has decided to reinvent Acrobat yet again and is rolling it with out without letting you know...

https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-do-i-go-back-to-the-old-acrobat/td-p/14032104#:~:text=1%20Correct%20answer&text=To%20revert%20to%20the%20old,2%2F3%20down%20the%20menu.

They have added a simple way to revert if you install the newest as mentioned in the thread above.
I would assume though that over time that option will go away, much like Outlook for Mac did.

We had a problem with the last Acrobat update.
Single page views are clipping off the top of the PDF and we could no longer see PDF page size in the lower left corner.
I have seen others with the same problem on the Adobe community.
We had to use Time Machine backups to revert back to 2023.003.20244.
2 are 2018 Mac Mini's running 13.6
1 is a Mac Studio M1 running 13.6
Problems with and without Pitstop.

Fujifilm XMF / Re: Upgrading/Replacing the Server
August 23, 2023, 09:59:25 AM
It is all going virtual for sure.
Kodak is pushing the VM's and now our MIS system, EPS Pace, is no longer providing hardware with the release of Pace v35 last month.
Im quite certain Fuji is going to want a hand in setting up a new server or else you will own it...meaning support may be cut off.

Updated the firmware on our P9000 about a month ago.
Like Johnny said though...no new cartridges...yet.
I have never had an issue with the Epson chips in their cartridges.
Although we use the 700ml cartridges now so we change them out half as much as we used to with the 350ml's.

Random Technology / Re: Setting up business emails
April 17, 2023, 10:10:33 AM
We have used IONOS formerly 1and1 to host our email and Website for the past 10 years or so.
https://www.ionos.com/

I have no complaints for what we rely on them for.  They offer a lot of other services that we have never tried.
Our Domain is hosted by Network Solutions, we have never gotten around to switching it to IONOS because I know what a pain in the ass that process will be.

General Prepress / Re: Dell Service Contract
April 17, 2023, 08:46:30 AM
All of our Windows computers are Dell including our servers.
We renew all the service contracts on our servers.
Three of which are Kodak Prinergy and InSite and a Prinergy tertiary server as well.
The other is our Heidelberg Prinect server.

I only renew service contracts on a few Dell PC's that are mission critical.
Our shipping station and our PC that runs a Fiery Server for our Epson P9000 and it hosts our Fiery Hot Folders that we use in Prinergy and on our Mac desktops that print to a Konica Minolta c300i that sits in the middle of our Prepress dept.

We have roughly 25 Dell Desktops and Laptops throughout our shop.
I have no issues with Dell at all and their service is outstanding.
I have been buying Dell only products for the past 13 years at our shop.

Kodak Preps / Re: Preps 6 vs Metrix
February 24, 2023, 03:27:12 PM
We never in a million years would want estimators/planners or CSR's anywhere near any prepress functions!!
Each dept. needs to stay in there in lane except for when collaboration is necessary for the occasional job that is not the norm.

Kodak Preps / Re: Preps 6 vs Metrix
February 24, 2023, 02:01:33 PM
Switched from Esko Nexus and Preps 5 I think it was at the time, to Kodak Prinergy and now Preps 9 and also InSite Prepress Portal back in 2017.
Best decision we ever made as far as our front end workflow goes.
I know Kodak is expensive with the monthly subscriptions and the support costs but we really have no complaints other than how slow Kodak is responding every year to macOS updates.  I find their support to be very responsive.
Having Prinergy and Preps connected the way Kodak does is a wonderful thing.
We have almost doubled our sales since 2017 and we have had to hire no one in prepress and we work almost zero OT.
I attribute almost all of that to having Prinergy and Preps and Insite all working together...to me there is no other way to go.
The ROI has been great from that standpoint alone.

Metrix was tempting back in 2017 because we do use EFI Pace as our MIS but i was not impressed by the demo we had with EFI at the time and all of our prepress guys including myself were Preps users.

Kodak plates on the other hand was another story entirely....long story short...we now use Heidelberg plates and a Suprasetter CTP.

I believe that might be a resolution setting causing that.
We output proofs on our Epson SureColor P9000 at 720x720....BUT the Print Mode is at 720 x 1440 dpi/Super.
That is using Fiery XF 7.3 to send the proof to the Epson.
I know that when we did not have our resolution setting right in our process templates in Prinergy/Workshop
We would get the fat/ragged type thing happening on our Epson proofs.

Random Technology / Re: ePS Process Shipper users?
December 19, 2022, 08:36:09 AM
Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate the info.
Some people here are all for purchasing it and some not so much.
All the way up to the two owners being split, with me kinda caught in the middle of it all.
We have had a demo and a meeting with the ePS sales department and now I'm trying to gather as much info as I can.
It seems to me to be a no brainer (once as a company you decide to throw some money around at improvements in workflow) and i do take care of all the IT related matters in our shipping dept. and have good insight into what they need and do daily.
Even if Process Shipper only worked 80-90% of the time, just the info going back and forth between the Pace MIS would be well worth it.

Random Technology / ePS Process Shipper users?
December 14, 2022, 09:02:10 AM
Our company is researching purchasing an add on to our ePS (formerly EFI) Pace MIS system.
It's called Process Shipper, in short it is web based software that ties together UPS, Fedex, DHL, USPS and all your couriers etc. into one central place and feeds info back and forth from our PACE MIS etc.
No more UPS WorldShip and Fedex applications....in theory.
As the Prepress Manager/Default IT guy i get involved in all these decisions and usually do all the research on this stuff.
Anyone out there familiar with this product and its value add.
I see some really mixed reviews out on the web, although most are at least 2 years old.
