Server 2012

Recently had a power outage at work and now the file server is having issues.
It will randomly drop server shares only to let you connect back in a few seconds (less than a minute as far as I can tell).


I don't see any log files or events that show up on the server. Other network connections stay on, just a few of the shares drop.


Any ideas why this is happening?

Not my expertise but did a network switch get hammered maybe?

Try deleting those shares and recreating them in addition to what born said.

Yeah just removing the share doesn't delete anything. Just make sure you rare r3moving the share and not actually deleting anything.

Try restarting the switch you can't ping.

the switches are 1 Lynksys and 2 Netgears (24 port). I remember several years back they had a power outage that fried a few ports on one of the Netgear switches. When Born mentioned that, I had a flashback. Went and checked & sure enough, got 1 Netgear that doesn't want to play nice. Still dinking with it, it's a little hard being remote and having to have someone on the inside checking shit when they have a minute.

Yeah they are pretty big, I actually had the same problem with a synology
I only use it for back up tho
