Not sure whether you'd call it that, but...  Acting on the assumption that Indy CS5 is supposed to effectively auto-activate fonts, proceeded accordingly. They had a fonts folder named '(job) Fonts'. I changed it to 'Document fonts', supposedly the name Indy recognises. After the PDF had been Exported, I noticed ArnoPro had become MinionPro. All looked OK in Find Font..., no warnings.
So, fired up FEX Pro, Imported/activated job fonts, restarted Indy, Export new PDF. All good now.
It may well have been something I was doing, but thought I'd flag it.

Myriad Pro is the Adobe default font when it can't find a font. You would think you should have gotten a warning though.

Well, that explains it. No more easy-peasy/let-Indy-do-it for me, though.

Check your Indy preferences for a setting about a fonts warning. It may be disabled and that is why you didn't get a warning.

Nothing leaping out. Could be a hole in my PDF Export setup.    :undecided:

I was thinking there was a font warning preference but I think that might be in Quark. Not sure why CS5 wouldn't flag a missing font. Or if it wasn't missing why it would replace it with something different. Maybe someone with CS5 can fill in the details.

I'd be happy for someone with CS5 to 'test' this font, just using the 'Documents fonts' method, no utility... see if they get a substituted  font on PDF Export.

PM if someone wants to test...

If they could release a new version every month I have no doubt they would do it.

This might sound crazy, but I wonder if it had to do with the renaming of the ID fonts folder?

I know quark has screwed me before by not calling out a font issue and I'm pretty sure indy has done it as well. It will throw font warnings on another file without changing any preferences but certain files have caught me out. I avoid any auto-activate for this reason and continue to do it manually, with the designers fonts in FEX. I have one designer that changed her helvetica ever so slightly and it causes reflow at times if I use any other helvetica. Quark is still the worst with fonts.

I don't auto activate any fonts for the simple reason you never really know where it gets them and what it looks like in the end.
I make sure the fonts supplied for the job are open and preview fine before proceeding to open the file.
