Kodak Preps / Re: Using Perfect bound Binder Marks
November 09, 2010, 08:03:57 PM
Thanks for all your help. I already made the extra binder marks this time to get this project out. I will definitely give this ago the next time I do a multiple form press sheet. I knew there had to be an easier way.

We are using Preps 5.33. I have the manual for 4 and I could not find anything for it. The work around we have is making thousands of templates with custom coalition marks placed.

Yes, sorry for not using the correct terminology. This is a web layout.

Kodak Preps / Using Perfect bound Binder Marks
November 09, 2010, 06:03:00 PM
Just curious if anyone else has run into the problem of having two forms on the same sheet that requires binder marks.
Example, printed sheet 1 has form 1 & 2, Sheet 2 has 3 & 4.
So, is there a way to make one template and place a mark that will work automatically?
I really do not want to make 24 templates just for the binder marks if this is possible.

When we get plates that the inside packaging is resealed with masking tape, those plates are dented and unusable.

Well, I really don't remember. A few months ago we had a print head go bad and tried to replace it with a new one that the date had expired. I recently inventoried the print heads for the month and noticed that there were a few print heads that are about to expire soon. I thought that I would ask if this has happened to anyone before and if there was a possible work around to get the head to work. HP puts an expiration date on these so that they do not have to warranty them past the date marked because the ink dries up.

Sorry for not having an actual error code. Thought that I could hastily over generalize the condition and get an answer. The Star Wars ref. was an ill attempt to be cleaver.

Does anyone have a way to get an HP5000 to use print heads that the date on the package has past?
We have several out of date print heads and it always errors when used. We do not use this device for color critical proofs. It has a Double Proof attached to it.

Help me Obie One Kano-be, your my only hope. :toaster:

RAMpage / Re: Exporting Dielines in 10.6
August 14, 2009, 12:03:41 PM
I always forget that Rampage tells us that re-reipping files is not supported. Files have to be re-registered to work properly. It all makes the beer taste better when things get solved before shift change.

Well, I was doing everything right, but, I did not re-register the single pages when setting the dieline color to the dielines trap setting. I tried just re-ripping the pages in Rampage. No Worky. When all else fails, re-registering files in the Rampage makes the pain go away.

RAMpage / Exporting Dielines in 10.6
August 14, 2009, 11:31:43 AM
Anyone good at getting the exporting dielines feature to work in Rampage 10.6?
I made the Dielines a separate file, combined/ made necessary perfs and score colors to print with the dieline color, setting the dieline to the dieline trap setting, and viola, no dielines in the page folder.
