Hi all, first of many. Will try and keep the list current.

Very nice. I made this post a sticky. Good info.

And there's more...
Next session is January 7th at 4pm Central European time.
We'll also record the session and send it to all those who registered.
We'll also add the URL to the PitStop user group on Linkedin.
Here's the link for registration in case anyone is interested. http://bit.ly/pitstopjanuaryworkshop
I'm in. 8)
Today's webinar was pretty good!
The pitstop edit form tool was interesting.
It's the one that looks like dashed box with an arrow.
He had a spot transparency that didn't show transparency in the inspector
but when he click on it with that tool it did.
Cleared up the AND and OR for me too.
Yup! Much thanks to ABC
and remember, you can watch recordings if you can't make the 7am webex
Emails just went out with the link to the recording. Also included an invite to a 'sneak peak ' of the next PitStop version.
If you want to get involved you can register for all upcoming sessions on this link. http://bit.ly/12monthsofPitStopWorkshops
One other point. We are always looking for content for these sessions, so if there is anything you want covered just let me know. If you have sample files that we can use to illustrate issues that's even better. The whole concept is about helping you get more out of your investment in PitStop.
This last session is the 12th in the series so we have 12 hours of workshops on the Official PitStop user group on Linkedin available for download. What I also do is add timelined agendas so you can jump straight to the part that's interesting for you.
Today's webinar was about spot colors and color spaces
LAB spot is still perplexing to me, but I'll keep learning!
do you guys preflight for LAB Spot when you have to convert to cmyk?
I just convert, haven't had any issues yet.
actually I just convert and don't even look for the alternate color space
is this bad?
Oh and I heard pitstop will have the current pantone library in the near future
Hey I was there and I didn't see you!
We do not check spots for LAB values as Prinergy is not yet using them so it still converts them to the old values. I'm sure we'll get bitten sooner or later though.
 we were at a meeting together

I got bit by this. It was a spot color job that used a new color so prinergy will still have the separation with the right number when you plate it but in the proofs it just shows up as white. I forget how I sorted it but it's possible.
Hi all, Happy New Year.
Glad to see you are enjoying the webinars. If you have any ideas or topics you would like covered in the next one either post them or PM me.
Probably not worthy of a full webinar but I'd sure like someone to explain to me how these boxes work. They are illogical to the CPU in my brain and have yet to figure out how they work.
If you ever have a chance to go over changing a range of color, like different 4 color blacks
You covered it before tho, so no big.
and selecting and changing something by position in the doc.
You covered it before tho, so no big.
I will try and do these and report back
Hi Andrew, when will the January 2016 recording link go public?

It should be sent Monday or Tuesday. I just have to prepare the timeline agenda and then send/upload it.
Ah, I thought that you would have an Action List for that, you know just "push a button" and it is all magically done! Seriously though, your time and effort is greatly appreciated!

Didn't think I would ever have a need, but I had to import a spot color into pitstop from indy. yay!
Thanks again for the recordings ABC, I just can't do the seminars live at 7am :sleepy:
No problem, we had people from 43 countries attend the last one. Not everyone can attend the live sessions, so the recordings are well received and often re-distributed.
If you have questions or topics for the next one, just let me know.
I'm happy to go over anything you may have.
just fyi, the January recording glitched (actually webex did while live) at around 15 min. mark, just keep going - it recovered in about 1 min.
:hello: Regular Expressions was fascinating! Thanks mate... now I need to find a reason to use them!
I could only listen, I was busy but it seemed way over my head
I'll check it out again
It's definitely not one for the faint hearted, but they do add a lot of power, especially with regards to working with Spot Colors etc.
I knew it would be a little techie, but I think it's really good to have the content available as a reference.
At the end we add some nice use cases, I really liked the example from one of the attendees about picking up customer colors when they have typos!
Even if people just start by using wildcards, it will have added value.
yes, and in case you missed it, there's a cool site to reference:
https://regex101.com/
Too fun!
(t|T).+ ^ozp\!
Missed the webinar, did anyone attend?
curious what the topic was
I always do the recording, to come shortly...
I attended. Started off showing how to search a PDF for text and then went on to show how you can also search for basically anything in a PDF including color values. Then scaling pages - page boxes and content proportionately or not. Pretty interesting.
Thanks will watch the recording!
Is the recording coming soon? I get nervous every time that I will miss out. It's me, I have a problem :undecided:
Looks like the last recording linked on LinkedIn is the April one.

:lmao:
I know ABC recorded it because he said he was during the webinar. Probably busy getting ready for Drupa.
I'm sure you're right, and I'm trying to quit bugging him every month.
I will wait patiently...
...is it here yet?

cute! cool!
:embarrassed: :embarrassed: :embarrassed:
:hello:
Ooops! thanks for the reminder, will do the agenda and put it up over the weekend.
Too much Drupa ...
Thanks!
Just gone out the door, Monday was a holiday here in Belgium. Hope it's interesting.
Sorry to bug, but I missed June, will the recording be available soon?
Yep, should be tomorrow (thursday) or Friday. Drupa followed swiftly by the PDF Conference in Berlin.
Back in the office tomorrow, so will get the agenda prepared this week.
Awesome, thanks!
Good stuff on the webinar today. Catch it on the recording if you missed it.
Dammit, I don't seem to get the emails anymore. I had time to actually watch this one.
Might be the ones you signed up for have finished, we have them available now until the end of 2017.
You can register via the enfocus home page under events.
I'll get the agenda for this one finished tomorrow probably, and then send the download links out.
That was probably it but even better, we are so behind that I can't even watch them with WebEx. I can tell the boss that we need to upgrade but until it no longer turns on, he thinks it works...
I had to re sign up too, I will be watching the recording too
my audio was breaking up but I think it might of been on my end, nobody was complaining.
Used Mac 6 instead of 5 this time. weird
I like that rasterize all but vector & Text
Was that an action that needed to be created?
Or was it built on an existing.
I will watch again, but just chatting
That one tweaked my interest too Tracy. There are a couple of those built in. (Pitstop 13)
Very Interesting
I have a job that might come in handy one day!!
I get crappy overly complex files all the time so hopefully it comes in real handy soon.
sometimes I wish i lived on the other side of the world, getting up to watch at 2am just doesnt work well for me.
but I do love watching the recordings!
He emailed the action lists from the webinar, let me know if anybody doesn't have them!

Hi ABC,
Thanks for the post.
Webinar is in progress!!!
I forgot to remind you!
Heh, I was in there! Short one but informative.
Was out on vacation so I missed it. I did get the notification this month though.
I plan on doing the recording, thanks for that ABC!
Missed this month's but it says "This recording cannot be played or downloaded because it was disabled by the host."
abc?
Yep, my fault. Inadvertently showed a licence key, and the last time I did that people actually used it!!!.
So took the recording down while I do some blurring in Premiere.
Will be uploaded to the Enfocus E-Learning later this week.
Anybody catch the webinar?
what was the topic?
I totally missed it! :(
New webinar provider. Tiling patterns, shadings and splitting pages were the hilites for me.
TYPO TYPO Highlights TYPO TYPO
But I saved 3 letters going that way. :P
Holy crap, should have known better that to accuse Joe of a typo!!
But I have no frikken clue about what's attached there. Sounds like legal mumbo jumbo to me.
I will watch it when I can!
New Webinar tool seems to get all round approval.
Any topics for the future let me know. I won't be doing the next one as I am at the GWG meeting in South of France. Yeah tough work I know, but someone has to do it!
Andrew, I thought at the beginning of the webinar yesterday it said all people that attended the webinar will get a link to download the recording at the end of the webinar. I never got that email.
Joe can you give me the link when you get it? I did not attend, Boo!
I will if and when I get it. :)
Will check up on that Joe. As it's a new application it's possible they made a mistake configuring it.
They told me that it would go out an hour after the webinar finished.
Scheduled webinar this morning. Enfocus forgot to show up. :rotf:
Was wondering, I totally forgot until just now. Jumped in and got the "waiting for host" message. Ahhhhhh - pure gold! :lmao:
sheesh! I thought it was me with the new GoToWebinar download!
Maybe ABC is out of town like last time this happened
I think ABC said he would not be there for this one at the end of the last one and someone else would be doing it. Oops...
Going to kill at least one person when I get back to the office!!
Sorry guys, was promised by someone they would take it over.
Well I don't think that is necessary. A good flogging maybe... :rotf:
How about?
Do what I threaten people with, you make a mistake, then you will be doing that type of job for the rest of the year/life, which ever comes first...maybe. :deadhorse:
Quote from: abc on November 07, 2019, 09:23:00 AM
How about?
Yeah a good flogging with a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire should cure the issue in the future.
Plugging them again. You only need to sign up once now, it's saved for any future sessions.
Learning anything takes time and practice. But it's so much easier when you have someone who's got your back. Someone who you can ask questions, and someone who understands your needs and what you are trying to achieve.
That's why since October 2014, Enfocus have been holding free monthly online training workshops for users of PitStop Pro and PitStop Server.
The great thing about these sessions is that our users set the agenda. In the past we have tackled topics like Preflight, Color Management, PDF Standards, Action Lists, Automation, and Smart Preflight. But we also don't ignore those little things that enable our users to get more out of our software, and help fix those annoying little PDF problem jobs that drive you crazy.
The sessions are held every first Wednesday of the month at 4pm Central European time and are timeboxed to 1 hour.
Registration is required and the sessions are recorded and distributed afterwards to everyone who has taken the time to register, even if they can't make the live session.
The next session is on Wednesday 4th December, and you can register for it, and all subsequent sessions on the following link. https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/7150388400116513036
If you can't wait that long and want to jump straight in now. You can immediately start our online training courses on the Enfocus eLearning platform, there you can learn about other Enfocus products like Enfocus Switch. https://www.enfocus.com/en/learn
Will recordings still be available Andrew? I am often unable to watch live and usually watch the recordings...
Born they are available at the link Andrew posted above:
https://www.enfocus.com/en/learn
Just go there and scroll down and you should see all of the monthly workshops.
Well except for November 2019. :rotf:
Oh right! Duh! :ohno:
and...
:lmao:
abc-When the February 2021 is up, can you Reply? I wanted to see the end part about the Smart Review and got distracted.
Thanks!
will do, it was just a glimpse at one bit of it though.
I plan to send the link of the recording out to those who are registered later today.
I'll be doing some separate full webinars on the new PDF Review version when it releases later this month.
Got the link this morning. Missed the webinar so I'm glad you do send the links.
Wasn't able to attend webinar, anyone know what the topic was?
Not me. I couldn't make it either.
we ditched!
Recording sent out, hope it's useful!
anyone make it to the webinar this morning?
I was waiting for it to start and then totally forgot.
I think it was about some new tools for the upcoming upgrade, sheesh
It's usually on too early for me, then the recordings are hard for me to find (I miss ABC posting links, cheers Andrew)
And to top it off, not sure when I'll be able to get 2023 anyway :blank:
Ill try and find it and link it maybe tomorrow
I got the Reminder but I was seriously under water (as always is the case these days) so maybe the replay, if they still make those available.
Here is the link
https://www.enfocus.com/en/learn/overview
Thank you Tracy 8)
Ohhh that find text via RegEx is neato...
Yeah I thought so too, not sure where I would use it?
Does anyone use variable sets? I don't know what it is.
When I was doing some Switch stuff, Variable Sets contained the Preflight Profiles to tell it which jobs would be Rejected, Approved, Etc. It made my brain hurt - a LOT.
In my downtime, I've been *making backups* of all my DC, PS, XBox and Nintendo games (and for all systems associated with...). When you said, "Switch," my mind immediately went to Nintendo and I was like. they're brilliant! Can't make backups of their chip cartridges without inventing some new hardware.
OUAT (Once Upon A Time), my roommate back in '94 had a disk drive that could copy a SNES cartridge onto a 3.5" floppy and then play the game from it.
...a...n...n...n...n...n...n...d... threadjacked.
I kinda miss doing those webinars. Used to keep me on my toes as I never knew what would come up!
I kinda miss you doing them too mate!
I kinda miss needing to use Pitstop too.
I miss you too! I felt like I new the teacher when you were teaching! :)
;D
Holy Cow, Out of desperation I finally figured out Select by Region
you get your region from the inspector! duh!!
Screen Shot 2023-05-19 at 12.49.59 PM.png
I always use the eyedropper at the top right in the box to select the region.... am I missing something? Haven't read the whole thread. Do it all the time.
sometimes the dropper doesn't work for me not sure why
You can draw a rectangle on the page using the 'Select Area' tool and the grab it using the eyedropper, much, much more flexible.
(about:invalid)
Hi ABC!!
I'm so excited about the select by Region, I'm going to try and select it with the select area tool
Thanks!
Enjoy! ;D
