Exactly what I thought when I first cast my critical eyes on Quark 7. It's fucking ugly and clunky and the microscopic palette icons look like they were shat out of MS Paint.

Quark sucks. (Trying to get Google's hit count up for the total number of times "Quark sucks" is repeated on the Internet.)
