Quark is using the same spot color
as the placed illy files, but when converting to process
they convert with different values. to pdf
Am I missing something?

Quark 8

Stiv

Try turning the spot to process before you PDF the doc.

Tracy

Did that
I can fix the pdfs but they are using like 6 spot colors

Stiv

I would make a new process swatch in Quark to match the illy color and not apply the imported illy color to the Quark stuff.

...or remap in the RIP. I presume it's printing 4-color, or it wouldn't be an issue.

I feel shame. We need more cards and stuff for our annual Subaru event. We printed a TON of them so it's been years since we've needed new ones.

Yup, I made them in Quark.  :embarrassed:

Better break out the acid-washed jean, day-glo shirt and wear top-siders with no socks for the rest of the day.

I use Pooplisher once a year, on purpose. Just to make a calendar, but I still feel so bad & dirty.

I never rip from quark anymore, pdfs and into indy
I think I finally talked this designer into indy

Easier said than done. Today I tried printing to PDF from quark and nothing ever happened, file goes to desktop printer, then just disappears. I finally gave up and used quark's awesome "export to PDF" feature.

Don't hold your breath. People tell me that all the time and then never do it. Bunch of liars they are.
