I'm in the process of converting a file we did as a print job to a PDF to be viewed on iPads. I've done simple things like adding links out to the URLs, emails, and making the ToC point to the correct pages (and links back to the ToC too) but I'm stumped on one thing.

There's a short list of Important Dates at the front of the piece, and I want them to be iCal items, so that the viewer can tap them & add to their local Calendar. Can not for the life of me find anything built into the InDesign Hyperlinks or DPS functions though.

I generated a few Events on my Mac, then Exported the .ics files and tried to link to those in a Dropbox folder, hoping the iPad would recognize the file type & prompt me to add them to my Calendar but no dice.

Anybody even remotely familiar with this stuff?  :banghead:

Take a look at this and see if there is anyway to adapt it to your needs:

Yeah, that's where I'm leaning towards looking. May have to venture into the Adobe Forums.

I'd rather have stories told than be telling stories of what I could have done.
