Wow Apple, you can't get any more obvious about your drive for engineered obsolescence. I get it, selling hardware has a huge profit margin.

Not that people don't already know...

Speed doesn't kill, rapidly becoming stationary is the problem

I'd rather have stories told than be telling stories of what I could have done.

I'm still really annoyed that they orphaned the core 2 duo machines. I'm sitting on a 15" mbp that is basically useless to me, and just last night fired up my sister in law's iMac c2d which also is a dead end. Maybe I'll just install Windows 10 on them. That ought to be fun.

I see the pic as someone mooning him; not Randy's fat cheeseburger stomach.

thanks. Our 2 new iMacs are fusion... we've been alerted, then.

You can install High Sierra on them. It just won't put the new file system on it. The problem is if you had a previously installed beta version of High Sierra which did put the new file system on the Fusion drive it will hose the Fusion HD when you try to install the release version of HS over the beta version of HS.

Before you upgrade be sure to check with your software vendors that their products support Mac OS X 10.13 / High Sierra.

Just to second Matt, new file system = whole heap of trouble.
Seriously would you even consider running it on a production machine?
Isn't prepress difficult enough without inviting disaster?

And there's always ONE person in the dept that thinks updating immediately will give them an "edge" but they don't bother to think of the ramifications, then can't do any work for a week cause they have to try & roll back to the previous OS.

Warnings noted, I'll do my best to stave off the Early Adopters.

Glad I went with SSD on both new Macs, instead of Fusion, FFS.
