Looks like Apple has a free one. If it works I'd use NTFS then.

I will be picking up a few 2tb external drives soon so I'll bring one in and see how well NTFS works with mac.

I just installed that free one here on my mac so tomorrow I'll bring a different HD with NTFS and see how it works. Also, I'll bring home the ExFat formatted HD home and see how that works on Win XP.

You will need to download and install MacFuse that I linked to for this to work. From the readme file:

library MacFUSE in order to work.

Also it doesn't say it will work with OS 10.6.x so I'm a little leery of using it.

Well it comes up now and I don't have MacFuse.  :huh:  Now I'm scared to use it.

I think when I installed it, MacFuse was part of it.

It must have it included in the NTFS-3G installer. Though for some reason it is already installed on my Mac and I haven't done the NTFS-3G install yet.

I wasn't able to read or write to the ExFat HD on my PC until I installed a driver from microsoft:
