Can anyone identify this font, or something similar? I uploaded it to WhatTheFont and it couldn't come up with anything close.
It's only for a barcode, but the one I scanned this from is really old and I need to redo it. It's a job for the government so I need to match as close as humanly possible.
Looked on MyFonts.com and came up with these:
Ticketing
Mono Neox
PF DIN Mono Medium
Monofaked
Albedo BV
CA Monodon Bold
Some Assembly
None of these fonts is bang on but one or two are pretty close.

Thanks in advance.
Could be a version of Times (Roman Small Caps and Old Style Figures).

For DCurry --
This font preview just arrived in my emailbox today, thought it might be a close match to what you were looking for, since it's designed to emulate a cash register receipt type of look:

Flipping mystery, it looks like a common one, but I couldn't find nothing, and the image is too low rez to do anything with. I can't even find a web site bout that name.
If you can separate out the characters a bit and try WTF again, it get better results. Good luck.
WTF read the characters okay but came up with nothing close. I found a pay font online called Manuel Pro that was similar but not worth the effort. I used Eras and created outlines and kinda retraced. Crap in, crap out!

This girl was at work all day, people noticed a slight droop on one side of her face and commented about it. She thought it was just because of the swelling from a sinus infection. When she got home her BF noticed and said get the hell into the car and went to the hospital. On the way she vomited all over and passed out. Luckily the hospital wasn't far away and they went right into the ER and were seen immediately.

Gabriola. Which, oddly, shares many of the same letters!
I knew there was a "g" in it somewhere!
:homer:
That's what I meant
This is a good one, appears to be Brush Script, but I think it's been modified, particularly the "m" after the cap S. Ideas?
Oh, and to add extra insult, on the card it also has a 1pt white stroke and a dropshadow, so any tinkering I do to it as outlines in Illustrator I'll have to recreate those wonderful additions also.
I think it's Brush Script, but they have adjusted the tracking so the left half of the "m" goes into the right half of the "S."
Definitely abused brush script
I wish it was as simple as tracking, but the lc "m" has an ascender swoosh that can't be hidden behind the cap S. Fucking garbage, they have 3 other pieces, ALL with different script fonts! I may just use one of those & tell 'em that's the way it is.
Once outlined in Illy, use the open arrow tool to manipulate the "m". Do you want my file?
You sneaky bastard.
Well done digi.
Quote from: DigiCorn on June 27, 2014, 10:01:43 AMOnce outlined in Illy, use the open arrow tool to manipulate the "m". Do you want my file?
Fuck yes!! I tried in Illy, made a mess out of it, moved on. :death:
Thanks man!
FFS, mine's actually not too bad - BUT - adding that 1pt white stroke even in Illy is a pain in the ass. See my screenshot directly above your post.
The "m" is an open path, and I left the individual letters as individual letters in case you need to manipulate further. The file you posted as an example is on a second layer that you can delete or turn off for closer matching. I need you to PM me your email address; it's too large to add as an attachment.
[edit] You would need to create it as a compound path to add the proper stroke (or copy and paste behind).
Yeah, I kinda did what you're describing. Added points where the letters intersect, then selected all of the overlapping points & did a Merge in Pathfinder. I'll PM you my email, curious to see if yours is cleaner than mine!
Probably the same
how'd that work out for you?
Ended up using mine, after I figured out how to Merge the paths, I could apply the 1pt white stroke to the whole word, then add the drop shadow in InDesign. If I added a stroke to yours, I got "overlap" of the white areas on the blue. Thanks though! Like I said, total pain in the ass for a nothing pos job. So - the usual.
Yeah - like I said, the paths on mine were not merged, but a simple click of the Pathfinder would have done it. I left it that way so you could tweak it if needed. Glad you got what you needed, tho
what the font didn't identify a winner. this might be stretched. i figure this is as good a place as any to see if someone knows.

Damn right it is and I even have it.
Thanks man.
Don't laugh because of the software I am attempting to use! :strangle:
But does anyone have these fonts? The one the customer sent me says they are incompatible with Mac OS X even though this job was done on a Mac!
IDK if this helps, but you may even have the fonts, but Quack needs them activated before it's running (quit Quark, load fonts, start Quark)
Sorry if this is obvious / not the issue!
ps: I only go here because I'm pretty sure you have Times New RomanPS :hello:
I tossed whatever I could find in hopes you can make something work.

Oddly...all I have is a Times New RomanPS MT. >:(
FB...those worked. Thanks a bunch to everyone that helped. I am swamped. Need an assistant to wipe the sweat my brow!
I've had not much to do all day until 2 minutes before I am to leave. Customer drops an approval, nothing is written up, it's been here for a week and a half. I've been told 5 different sheet sizes and 3 different impos in 15 minutes. I now have to stay in order to get a set of plates out.
Lovely start to the weekend. I didn't even get kissed before I got fucked.
So I need to recreate a vector logo because it's just easier and faster than asking the company. I know it will have to adjust the kerning to mash it all together but what font should I be starting with ?
Nimbus for the Wattsun?
Solar Trackers and the text underneath it look like something in the Futura family.
Wattsun looks a lot like Helvetica (Bold or Heavy, maybe). Or Universe.
I've had "some" good luck with this.
https://www.fontsquirrel.com/matcherator?utm_source=fontsquirrel.com&utm_medium=sidebar_banner&utm_campaign=purple_matcherator_41
I had one the other day - same scenario where I had to recreate a logo rather than ask the client. Usually I have great luck with WhatTheFont, but on this particular one it didn't come up with a good match so I tried Identifont. It asks you a bunch of questions about different characters. I only had a few characters, so most of my responses were "not sure". After about 30 questions, it nailed it for me!
First place was what the font and yea, it didn't work all that well. It wouldn't attempt to guess the wattsun one.
Thanks for all the ideas, this will be tomorrow's project. I got caught up in helping fix things out on the production floor today. Seems our new to us horizon binder has a lot of screws I just happen to have in my RC car parts bins. Now I hope he doesn't expect me to run home every time we need to fix the binder.
I'd use either Helvetica Bold or Helvetica Neue Bold for the "Wattsun" and the Futura family for the rest.
Cheers,
John the Fontaholic :drunk3:

Just be sure to punch out before you run home to get them! :sarcasm:
Don't give him any more bad ideas, he has enough of them already.
You could also try identifont.com
Helvetica bold seems dead nuts on for the wattsun. What sucks is the regular version was the first one I looked at but for some reason it didn't click. I was all over the place yesterday.
Helvetica is a pretty exotic and rare font, so no one can blame you.
So exotic that it has it's own movie.
That's why I'm pissed as it's the 2 fonts I can normally pick out easily.
It is possible it's Arial.
We've been dead for a week now, my brain is in sleep mode.
Normally with that type of stuff I hunt google for a pdf with the company logo. Most times I am able to find a pdf that is unlocked with a full vector logo. I tried looking for Wattsun and found nothing, other then some documents saying "Wattsun Brand Transitions into Array Technologies'" Looks like they are under the Array brand now, which was easy to find a workable logo for, but nothing for Wattsun.
That's my first stop for lesser brands too, hit the site & hope to find an annual report or Job App or something with a decent logo that can be ripped outta that bitch like a full sized Butterfinger from a toddler's hand at Halloween.
WhatTheFont has really tanked lately, not sure what happened to their ID algorithm but I don't even bother any more.

Definitely not Arial - the lower case 't' has a flat top

And it will soon be under other ownership.
Doing something for a friend and she likes the font used in this, not sure what it is. It looks familiar but I can't place it and to many fonts in my collection to go through. Anyone have an idea of what it is?

Copperplate?
Quote from: Farabomb on April 06, 2016, 10:10:51 AMCopperplate?
Looks pretty close to me, so it will work, thanks!
Tough one, especially since they cropped off BOTH sides. Any bright ideas? :death:
Matura Script Capitals is similar, couldn't find this one though
Not Reporter No. 2 either...
nor Cascade Script...
sorry, struck-out here. Good luck.
Viner Hand is pretty close, not dead on tho.

That shit's already run, bound & delivered!! GIGO
Of COURSE it is. That was for NEXT time.
Viner Hand is the one I came up with as well.

Crappy 96dpi ticket I need to reset - anybody wanna take a stab at this lovely piece of action?
Looks like Arial to me!
Very Unusual Font, Let us know if you figure it out.
I couldn't find it in my Font Book even.
The B is very unusual
Not helpful, but that font is like Different Strokes or Love American Style or SOMETHING from my childhood fo sho
Bah, gave up about 45 seconds after I posted & just swapped out something else. Approved & printed!!! :hello:
I spent more time on it than you did!
that'll be 5 bucks please
Got another one, the "U" with the foot on it is tripping me up, a is the "flat foot" on the "R" character. :hangme:
Not perfect but similar.

Bueller?
very close to Sina Bold, but it's all I could find
It's some mutant cross breed offspring of Trump Mediaeval and Minion Pro
Servus Slab from Adobe Typekit maybe?
Thanks for your replies. I'm over it, and have moved on with my life. I just gave them Minion Pro.
aint that just such a fun part of the job?
'oh just recreate this business card'
1 hour later... searching for a font... for $%$^% sake why are there just SO MANY FONTS OUT THERE!
mostly I give up after 5 mins these days... if 'What the font' cant locate it, then I'm not looking any more!
Font Squirrel (yes, that's the name) is another site like What The Font. I usually try both. They work in a similar fashion, but sometimes get different results.

cool will add that into my list of actual useful websites
I have the "What the Font" app on my phone..
take a pic, it tells you what the font is.
pretty handy and works most of the time
I forgot about the phone app. I think I once had it, and then deleted it. I did post at whatthefont.com yesterday and got an answer back. Whitman. But since I do not have Whitman, and I have already proceeded without, it's a closed case.
We try so hard to find the exact font and a lot of times we can't!
Oh and how many times have you tried to match the font and couldn't
and then they send you the font?
I don't even try anymore and don't ask either. I either outline it if I can or replace it with Helvetica, Arial, or Times. If it is a script font I'll replace it with whatever I have handy.
I try. I will give myself about 10 minutes, then after that, it's like Joe said.
Use Chrome and load the FontNinja app.
Go to their website and it lists the font as Georgia.

I also use a Chinese website which identifies things that MyFont and Font Squirrel can't.
en.likefont.com (http://en.likefont.com)
A word of warning - it looks dodgy so I never click on any link or download a font from that site.
I make an effort to find the font, but will not put more then 10 minutes into it. If I cannot tell with whatthefont I just shoot for something similar. If they want exact they will have to supply the font. Never had an issue with this approach.
in a hurry - anyone know what this is? what the font is having issues...
do a search for A&S Blaze (font name)
close enough. thanks!
Every font is Comic Sans to me.
Maybe it's comic sans 2018.
Looks more like Chicago to me.
OK im not having any luck with the online identifiers.. anyone want to try?
I do believe it is Aleo Regular. https://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/aleo (https://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/aleo)

thanks, the guy finally coughed up the natives.. I found it on Fontshop.com. Its a commercial set but fortunately the ones i need are free for some reason. Its opentype, but at this point i dont care. The amount of shit i do that i shouldnt be doing increase with the length of time i spend in front of this monitor.
this is driving my nuts. (http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p4pb6234226/p4pb6234226.jpg)
i know it, but can't remember what it is...
Possibly Schuss Sans
the lower case L is the difference, it looks like a lot of fonts beside that
sheesh I can't remember either
Trebuchet?
Hey! I think you got it!
I have exhausted my resources for this one:
That one has probably been manually adjusted so it's not a "real" font anymore.
It looks like a lot of fonts, but none match exactly, especially with all the curly bits.
JohnHancock? :D
Closest one I found is Pinyon Script. Like David said, it looks altered.
https://www.1001freefonts.com/pinyon-script.font
Thanks, yes, looks custom to me. Maybe for an online wedding card site or something.
yes. yes they do.
