So, I've been at this company going on 3 months now, and it's been a fairly smooth transition, said for a few weird things, because that's just the way they do things around here, when suddenly CWS stops talking to the Fiery. Checked on the router - IP still shows up. Pinged it from every other machine, and it responded, so it's not a cable, or random DHCP IP address reassignment (it's static). Checked the IPv4 and it's all setup correctly with the right IP, Subnet and Gateway... so basically I've  eliminated any network issues and adapter issues. I'm thinking maybe there was some kind of software update or patch that's causing the issue, so I update everything (it hadn't been done in years) and it starts running again, so I think I'm done. Boom. Fiery stops talking to CWS again, so after  few failed attempts to reconnect, we call Xerox. The guy comes out and says that the Fiery cooling fan is so clogged with dust, it's overheating, and dumping the connection.

Huh, we use CWS to connect to an iGen4 & some B&W machine-I can't recall the model right now. The iGen rarely loses connection, but damned if the B&W doesn't drop several times a day. It also locks up the friggin' Mac side client so I've taken to only connecting to the B&W when I have to send a job, then disconnecting again. Rampant POS software, dunno why there isn't an easier hot folder solution to simply push jobs to the iGen anyway.

We have 2 Fierys; one connected to the C75 and one to the D125. The C75 was the Fiery that was dirty and losing connection. CWS is running remotely on our various workstations.
