Kodak Systems / Re: Dot gain curve in Prinergy

Quote from: Joe on November 02, 2012, 05:22:51 PMHi Chelle! :hello:

You mean like on the right half of the sheet apply a curve and not apply it to the left half of the sheet. Not that I am aware of. You can apply web growth compensation in Prinergy to certain areas of a sheet but I've not seen or heard of a way to do it with curves.

Hi Joe!
I think that's the idea - am translating here... LOL.

And thanks Johnny_jay.... I'll pass that on - if it's not exactly the answer needed... I'll wander back.

Kodak Systems / Dot gain curve in Prinergy
November 02, 2012, 05:16:50 PM
Hi everyone  :hello:
Hope it's not a total shock to see me back but prepress/printing seems to be like a black hole that will suck you back in at some point.... Hope everyone is ok - especially those on the east coast. Am trying to help out a friend and I figured the best place to go is here - it seems that someone here always had a solution to a problem. The question is this: is there a way to apply a dot gain curve to some but not all areas on a sheet in Prinergy? I don't recall running across this before I got out of the business last year so I couldn't come up with anything on my own. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

I think that Beer's place is going to quickly find out that they have a disaster on their hands. If one of our jobs came up with a change and needed it NOW? And we needed to wait say - a day? All hell would break loose.

So much fun to show up in these threads a couple days later.

Thanks for the melted snowman, Tracy!

Project update: the guy canceled when he found out he'd have to pay the for the extra time put into making his ridiculous and unrealistic changes. Whatever.

Thanks! I'll bookmark those for future reference.

He's sort of off my hands now - decided we will make HIM search for images and send item numbers of ones he likes. No more  :banghead: for me today, thank you very much.

We just got a "get out of jail early" card so YAY! Time to run off in a little while.

The Rest... / Images to find
June 04, 2010, 01:59:35 PM
Ugh. Working on a banner by default. Camping should be illegal so that co-workers are not allowed to leave.

So - I need to find an "antiquey" looking old man winter cloud type image (think: cloud w/a face) who looks like he's blowing the north wind. "A wizard looking type". Yeah. OK.

This guy has changed the "theme" of this banner w/every proof sent to him. The artwork must be approved Mon morning if he wants his banner on Wed. Idiot.

Oh - and a half melted snowman too... Sheesh....

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'll buy the beer.

I need another vacation.... Now...

I will freely admit that i have a 4 year degree in desing. (Hush, Beer.  )

I fell into Prepress by accident and I'm perfectly happy here. I DO have to do LOTS of desing work, though - as well as fix the crap that other desingers send. :banghead:

We are a "full service" printing company so there are 3 of us that do desing work.

But you did a great job considering you weren't given any direction.

Quote from: Chelle on May 06, 2010, 04:08:55 AMI just got back from the first vacation I've taken in 6 years. I think I'm lining up another one for 6 months from now. I'd forgotten how much fun vacations can be.

Hey, welcome back chelle! Require pics for Home Page Gallery, of course. We missed ya!
Thanks, Frailer! If I ever get thru the zillions that I took, I may get some for you to put up...
