The Rest... / Re: Affinity Publisher 1.9

The game changer here is pledge #3. Giving out the Affinity suite for free to schools and non-profits will create a new generation of users who only know Affinity. It may not happen in my lifetime but this could kill the dynasty that is Adobe. I hope it is successful as Adobe became greedy once they became the only game in town (sorry Quark). Time will tell.

Exactly. I've worked at way too many print shops where they get bought up (swallowed) by a bigger company. They always say nothing will change but things always change. I believe Canva is a subscription model.

I've been using this at home for about a year and was just getting used to it. This is terrible news. Get ready for the switch to a subscription model.

As far as I can find, once you cancel your CC subscription, the apps are disabled in 30 days. I cannot find any info from Adobe about keeping whatever version you already have after canceling after a year. Does anyone have any definitive documentation from Adobe about this? Thanks.

Adobe InDesign / Re: Swatches in InDesign

I've found with InDesign you can drag the swatch itself onto the other document and it will appear in that document's swatch pallet.

Just went and looked at the picture - your plant was a World Color originally, as was mine. I liked World Color. Invested money in their facilities and left the local management alone as long as the plants were profitable. It didn't take Quebecor long to force out all the WC upper management after the "merger."

Left the company 4 years ago and sold all my stock (which I was forced to buy) @ 18.50/share. Their stock closed today 13 cents. Boy do I feel smart!

QW bought up up many successful and profitable companies with great people, drove out their upper management to other jobs, and brought in their micro-managing idiots to slowly run them them into the ground. They reaped what they sowed (though I feel bad for all the rank and file workers, many of them good friends of mine).
