Adobe Acrobat / Adding a watermark automatically
January 10, 2011, 08:58:02 AM
Just wondering, does anyone know if there is a way to add a watermark automatically when exporting to a pdf? Or does anyone know of a script maybe? I understand that adding a watermark is no big deal and pretty simple but I constantly forget it so if I could make it auto I don't have to worry about it. I'm trying to work with my ADD
Thanks!

I just had Quark 6.5 print bitmapped fonts, which are activated and print beautifully from InDesign. They're even turned on in Quark. Really Quark? FPOS. This is more of a rant than anything else. A pdf printed out of InDesign works.

The Rest... / FEX 1.2.3 bug?
January 06, 2011, 11:00:32 AM
FEX 1.2.3 The free version
Mac 10.6.3

Does anyone else have this problem with FEX? Whenever I restart or log out I have to turn all of my fonts back on.
It did it to me using Tiger also. Is this the norm or am I just f***ed?
Thanks!

Adobe InDesign / InDesign "Recent Places"
January 05, 2011, 10:02:09 AM
This is no biggie, just nudgy. Is there a way to get the "recent places" dialog (ie: placing a picture) to list the most recent on top as opposed to the bottom?  And I haven't done one iota of research to figure it out for myself, I'm very lazy today.
Thanks!

Adobe Acrobat / Working with forms
December 28, 2010, 01:17:13 PM
I've created a pdf form for a client, for his clients to fill out and send back. Duh. Mistress of the Obvious.
It's a masterpiece as far as filling it out, blah blah, it's the "submit a form" that I cannot get to work. Has anyone really had any luck with these as far as email goes?  I'm trying to send it to my Mac and my online email using Outlook on one of the PCs. It looks like if I fill it out, it sits in the outbox, if i don't fill it out it will send. And it doesn't work with Thunderbird, what's up with that Adobe??

Anyway I was just wondering if anyone had ever played around with them.

I'm recommending that he just posts it on the website and I'll change the action on the "submit form" button.

One more thing. If the returned form has the same file name every time it's returned...A whole lot of ugliness may ensue.

The Rest... / Previewing an ebook
December 15, 2010, 09:02:21 AM
I have a client that wants to put her book on a Kindle and I have absolutely no experience with ebooks at all. What we were wondering is if there is a way to preview what the book will look like on the Kindle without actually having a Kindle. Not sure if this is making sense at all. Or if anyone knows of any decent sites about ebooks that I could check out. Thanks...

Macintosh / PS clipping path in SL
December 06, 2010, 02:48:57 PM
Hi All,
I've just upgraded to Snow Leopard (Intel G5) and am finding my clipping paths saved out of Photoshop are acting very strange. Slowing down InDesign to the point that I'm deleting them while I work so I can navigate the page. I know that SL doesn't differentiate between an Illustrator or Photoshop .eps' but
my Illy .eps's behave fine. Anyone else see this?

Adobe Acrobat / Unsupported color space
December 03, 2010, 10:50:21 AM
I receive these pdfs from a designer that have these large black graphics in them that look like normal run of the mill Illy .eps clip art.
When I send them to my foam core guy the graphics drop out of his rip. So I went to edit the artwork out of Acrobat and I get an "Unsupported color space" message. I don't have Rampage or any cool kid toy like that, straight Creative Suite user. Is there a way to change a color space in a graphic in Acrobat 9 that anyone knows about?

Adobe Illustrator / JoinTextFrames script
December 03, 2010, 10:39:07 AM
Hi, I was wondering if anyone had ever used the join text frames script from Wundes.com. And if so, how the hell do you make it work. I guess I'm not understanding how the pixel variance works. Thanks!
