CTP - CTF / Re: Plate developer machine cleaning

Quote from: Farabomb on July 19, 2017, 11:11:43 AMHave the owner put in a reverse osmosis water filtration system and it should take care of the buildup. Also helps with the water in the press.
These are the parts.
The photo was made in 2014.
The original color of the heating/cooling pipe and guide grill spacers is covered whit white stuff atm.
The only time these meet with water is when we clean the whole stuff from time to time.
And it's not from the water. Otherwise it would come of with the stuff we use to clean the water parts.

Quote from: Tracy on July 19, 2017, 09:35:01 AMI don't think the developer section should be getting a buildup
Is it the water section?
If so Try Vinegar
No, it's not the washer part.
There is normal "water made" lime scale and algae.
It can be removed with normal stuff.

CTP - CTF / Plate developer machine cleaning
July 19, 2017, 07:35:44 AM
Hi guys!

If this topic is on, sorry, but I couldn't find any like this. Maybe it's because I'm bad at searching and the language barriers.
So if anyone can help even with a link to a the Topic or with some experience I would be glad.

So every time we clean the developer (Kodak T 860) I get to see that the metal parts and some plastics get more and more limescale like layers. I tried to remove it by scrubbing with rust removal (It works on regular limescale) but didn't got it to work. Tried with the developer liquid as well. No luck either.

I don't think it makes a huge difference if it stays, because it doesn't solve in the developer, but by time it could be thick enough to crack off maybe and scratch the plates.

What should I do besides hanging myself?

Thanks for the answers! ;)

Kodak Systems / Re: Kodak CPG-86 Roller Creaking

...days pass by and the mystery noise returns. I say to myself. Okay dude. Let's do this! We will fake that the top cover is closed and check for this piece of "something" once and for all.
Turns out the noise maker was the water brush roller. I mean, the creaking stopped just when the gears and the roller stopped.
Yeah. I know. I should have started the search this way. But the places are so tiny, and hard to reach. (It's just a small room where the CTP and the Plate processor are crammed in. Also, I was lazy. So I did the lubrication 3 times. :D)
Found it. Made it move smoothly.

Hjup. The rewash plate sensor. Is not working. We got replacements. I changed it today. But no changes at all.
But soon we will get a full cleaning. So maybe I will get this machin naked and check for all them cables and connections.
If not luck, try online.

Only when lubing the right parts. :D

Okay guys! Thank you for your help!
I was deaf and blind and out of this universe.
So I gave some other rollers a bit of lubrication.

Here comes magic.
It worked. No noise.

But now I realised, I have another problem. It's a sensor thing, so maybe it needs another topic.

Quote from: Tracy on February 25, 2016, 12:38:06 PMThere are chains that drive the rollers, they need grease not silicone
I would take the panels off so you can listen there too.

I didn't think about the chains (first of all, because I never saw the machine THAT naked), because the gears are on the opposite side where the noise comes from. I assume the moving parts like the motors and chains are also on the side, where the cogs.

Quote from: Tracy on February 25, 2016, 12:05:28 PMwas it one roller replaced? I would think the 2 rollers should replace together if they're not the same size.

It shouldn't matter if the rollers are slightly bigger as long as the 2 that go together are the same size.

which roller is it? developer, water, finisher?
Yeah. Sorry, The pair of rollers were replaced, not only one. They are the same size and material. I mean like with eachother. Not with the ones they are replaceing.

It's the last water roller. W3 to be correct.

(But I was experiencing similar noises before with the original rollers at the developer part. Also sounded like the noise came from the bearings)

Quote from: Ear on February 25, 2016, 11:52:41 AMTry listening to headphones. Really drowns out the funny noises.
Hjup, I was thinking about that, but it is a pretty small Printhouse, so I am also kind of a doorman. So I need to hear the doorbell. Headphones are forbiden for me.
Also, there may be something wrong, but as a beginer in this genre I didn't had a clue to figure it out.

Kodak Systems / Kodak CPG-86 Roller Creaking
February 25, 2016, 05:10:34 AM
So the problem is some time ago we didn't took care of a roller and it got damaged. Our supplier couldn't give us the same type of roller, just something similar.

The new roller is 3mm larger in diameter and a bit softer in material then the old, damaged one. (Also it's black and not grey, but who cares about the colour) There are no other differences.

So the thing is it gives out a really irritating squeaking noise. Like maybe the metal is grinding to the plastic roller bearing or the housing, but I gave it some silicone spray. The creaking is still on.

Heard it before on other rollers, which were on the right place with the right size, so it is returning thing but on other places inside the processor.

Hope you had the same issues and have some kind of solution to it for me.
