Has anyone with this problem tried to do a clean install of everything? Wipe the hard drive, install OS X, and all CC apps?

I would love to do this...... it just kinda scares me thinking I could not get everything back up and running.

If there was ever a time with no work for a couple of days, I would bite the bullet.

Strange thing is, Acrobat has been a lot more stable lately than it has been in the past few years. Not sure why. Most times the crashes are happening when image editing.

It's very frustrating to encounter this memory leak from Acrobat. I've posted the problem also at the Adobe > Acrobat forum.
Last month I've contacted someone from Adobe via chat regarding this problem. After this chat the problem seemed to be solved. But half an hour later the memory leak started again. I think I'll start another chat again this week.
Hi jan!
Quote from: pspdfppdfxhd on October 11, 2017, 07:56:43 AMI AM seeing this, not as drastic as some are experiencing but "the system is out of memory" box comes up a couple of times a week at least. If the computer is left running over the weekend with Acrobat open it will happen for sure. I've seen Acrobat using over 50GB of memory, which is strange because I only have 16 installed. It's like it's "blowing up" like a balloon over time.
yeap pretty much what mine does, and if its a pdf with lots of images it does it a lot quicker.

Im not sure if anyone on the 2 threads has done a complete wipe of HD etc, but a couple have done a reinstall of DC. and a couple have reverted to X1 and then dont have the issue at all, sort of implies its the software not the hardware?

Joe

The fact it doesn't happen to everyone implies it is not the DC software. But the fact it only affects DC implies it is the DC software. Confused yet? The reason I asked about wiping the HD clean and doing a fresh install wasn't implying it is hardware. I believe it is a combination of the DC software and the Mac OS software. Maybe system/application cache files, etc....

Have any of you ran Onyx and cleaned all system/application/font cache etc and the whole range of utilities Onyx has? I run it at least once a month and I am one that isn't having this issue so it might be something worth trying before wiping everything out and starting over.

I think I might give Onyx a go ;-)
worth a try and its probably something I should be doing. Technically we have a IT technician...but he never does any maintenance

Joe

It takes time and you can't do anything else while it is running. And it has to reboot when finished. So do it when you have some free time.

So then your free time won't really be yours OR free, you'll be using it to run onyx.

It goes on and on.........

Joe

Well I don't suggest clocking out and doing it.

Hey Joe

I got the Sierra version of Onyx from this place. Unfortunately the link to the Yosemite version was broken. (I want also test my own iMac.) Here you can find the Yosemite version.

Edit 1: Forgot to mention: ThnX guys for mentioning Onyx! I give it a go when the Adobe chat isn't successful.

Edit 2: It's a bit annoying on this site to fill in the verification every time when posting/editing something. Most of the times I fill in the wrong characters. Sometimes I cannot download the audio file to listen to the correct characters.

After a few posts the verify thing goes away. There would be no way in hell I'd post 16,000+ times and do the verify every time.

Just make sure you get the right version for your version of OS X.

After your 3rd post you do not have to enter the verification question. Spam control.
