Can someone help me convert this Word file to pdf?
some reason when I go to create the pdf the pages get mixed up.
If you can fix it and let me know what the problem was, that would be great!
looks like I did it a couple years ago
I'm a Word retard

Here is a PDF. I opened the .docx in Apple Pages and exported to PDF. Then Pitstopped the RGB black to K100.

No guarantees if it is paginated right though. Is it supposed to be a 29 page document?

looks like you had problems too, I don't know what's wrong with it.
I'm going to have to put it in indy, It flows pretty good, some formatting tho :death:

it was a 30pg well going to be a 32 with blanks
but all the text did weird things

Joe

I tried it in Open Office and Apple Pages. Apple Pages was better than Open Office.

Did you try it in Word? I don't have Word or I would have.

Yes I tried in word, I tried every which way of making a pdf
nothing works
I'll try again tomorrow, maybe it will work

thanks for trying Joe!!

Diddler

I got it to save a PDF in an old version of Word. But it gave me a 15pp PDF. Looks like the pages doubled up on each other.
I think something is not right with that Doc.

You can't polish a Turd, but you can roll it in glitter!

I'll bet it is something stupid the person creating it did! :strangle:

Oh, surely not! :sarcasm:
Tall tree, short ropes, fix stupid.

Here's a good resource for free conversions. I use it all the time with Word docs. The only problem is it doesn't embed all the fonts, but a quick fixup with Pitstop embeds them for me.

it used to be the case that the printer setup had an impact on the formatting of the document. That should be better now. Used to be a real pain in the ass.

Is there any way to get warning if font substitution takes place? Short of having a client-supplied PDF from the same Word doc (ha!!!) to compare with I mean, there's no way to get burned right?

Not sure why but we're getting more of them than usual and the CSRs are downright snippy about getting the client to send a PDF. Useless meatsacks.
A little diddie 'bout black 'n cyan...two reflective colors doin' the best they can.

Joe

If you open it in Apple Pages it will warn if there are fonts in the document that are not on the system.
